I now have a working 24/7 (mostly...) modded Minecraft server. there's no whitelist so anyone who wants to join can do so immediately. all you have to do is set up the easy mod system, which i have included in a download along with easy to follow instructions. any issues you have with the mods or the server can be posted here, where i can fix them quickly

IMPORTANT NOTE:
as mods are added to the server i will update the dropbox download link with new files. If the server tells you it cannot connect you due to missing or old mods, come back here and download the file again, then follow the update procedures below:
to update: once you have downloaded CF Modpack.zip again, open it up and find the Modpack folder. the one that tells you to put it on your desktop. although you already have this folder on your desktop from the previous version, you are going to need to drag the new one to your desktop. once it is there, make sure you remember the name of your old step 3 folder (the one that was there before you started upgrading) and then delete it. rename the new step 3 folder to match the name of the old one. you have just updated, delete everything else from that download and it should work immediately upon opening minecraft. Warning: this will delete all of your saved worlds in the modpack. if you want to keep them, remove them from the saves folder before deleting!

Tizo watched from the prow of one of his warships as the entire surface of the planet was covered in violent explosions

over to the east a glowing figure was descending from the sky in a beam of light to cheers audible even over the vast distance

over to the north a massive wave of plush toys was sweeping across the continent
NOOOOOOOPE
"That's it. i'm done. i KNEW it was a bad idea coming up here again. nothing to do here. we're leaving. nuke it from space and we're LEAVING"
The Axolotl mashed a few buttons on the control panel in front of him, all the while screaming...

cannonfire pummeled the area around Telcoco and Den Atzintli until there was nothing left but a crater

Den Tietzal was reduced to rubble in moments

« on: November 14, 2013, 08:40:17 PM »Wow! I had no idea those things cost so much. To compare, I paid about $400 for my used Thinkpad x61 tablet PC two years ago. If you're looking to spend that kind of money, you may want to consider looking into some older tablet PC models to use for drawing-only. It's a world of difference compared to drawing on a slate tablet.
i've been eyeing a thinkpad for a while but i was just about to invest in a new laptop so i'll have to check the price

Have you considered an alternative to a Wacom tablet? Honestly, I believe them to be grossly overpriced.
For instance, I use an Adesso Cybertablet Z12 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=908868&is=REG&A=details&Q=), and have found it be more than adequate for digital drawing. It has a 10 x 6.25" active drawing area, 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity, and several programmable pen-button areas. All for under $70, too. Might be worth looking into if the $400 price tag is daunting.
Thanks for the recommendation, Blue. I was also shopping around looking at some of the Monoprice tablets as well. I will add this one to the list and try to compare them. I may be able to get one sooner than i thought.

you're probably wondering where i have been for the last 2 weeks and also where the halloween group picture is. and i have some bad news...
no amount of sadface emoticons can convey how i feel about this. My 4 year old Wacom tablet has died.
Rest In Peace, Tablet
this is terrible news because i have no way to finish any of my half-completed pictures, including the Halloween one.
I noticed that the pen input was getting a bit jerky recently, but i had no idea the whole digitizer would break, so the wednesday before halloween the thing just stopped taking pen input. so now i'm down one $400 tablet that i can't afford to replace.
you guys may not see much art from me for a while as i try and save up enough money for a new one. i may try and upload some pencil sketches but i have no scanner and i'm worthless with any sort of real media besides pencils so i can't do any requests or commissions for a bit. i have a little less than half the price of the tablet covered already but this could take me a few more months so I may end up just waiting until christmas. either way i'm really sorry i can't finish the halloween piece or any other art for people right now.
just figured i'd let everyone know...
In other news:
i will probably start doing more of my pixel art since i can do it with a mouse instead of my tablet. if I need to, i may open up pixel art commissions to pay for the replacement.

Welp... the whole voting process is starting to look pretty much unnecessary.
With every other idea receiving only one vote each, the theme for the Halloween group pic iiiiiiis.....
Monster Mash!
Everyone is ready and dressed up for the big Halloween party, but it doesn't look like you'll need those costumes much longer. You're all turning into Halloween-themed monsters!
now we have to deal with more important matters. getting you all in the picture. For that i will need everyone to submit something here before October 20th
Your submission should look something like this:

I want to be able to give credit to everyone who was in the picture
Reference links:
important point: If You Do Not Have Reference Material I Cannot Draw You!
I really hope this isn't too much of a problem for most of you, but i need to make sure everyone knows
that I can't draw without some form of reference (I'm still developing my mind reading powers)
if I have drawn you repeatedly in the past i don't need a ref from you
What monster you want to be tf-ing into:
this part's kind of important
Try and avoid anything overly gory just because not everyone is okay with that stuff and this picture is for everyone
Pose/Reaction:
what exactly are you doing and how are you reacting to the Tf (it's hard for me to make up your reactions for you when i don't have a full grasp on your character's personalities)

With the news of the latest attack in mind, the entire Tiatlaca population begins a mass evacuation. every citizen is moved to the new Cloudcutter Megaships. they are easily capable of sustaining the full population and soon all of the old cities except for Den Zacatl are nothing but empty ghost towns. The Tiatlaca are now more secure in their Megaships and ready to ride out a terrible war.

Having remained in nearly complete obscurity until now, the gold-scaled scientific advisor to Tehuan had been seen by almost nobody until she was forced to flee the city of Den Atzintli with general Telectol and Tehuan. Akuritli led the people of the capital city into the caves where specially designed vehicles were waiting...
