I guess I can start with my lame pics.  I tried to get good shots but my creations are better viewed in context then by themselves as I like to string things together like multiple waterfalls feeding the same pool... But I digress...

This was my first base that I eventually put a glass roof and windows on



I work mostly underground with various scattered entrances


Oh, and that peninsula over there? Where I'm standing and it are connected...


...by a tunnel about 20 blocks down and 130 blocks long


Of course we have the obligatory lava pit...


And various waterfalls flowing underground and beneath the seabed.







As you can probably tell, I have a thing for flowing water....

And now... I await to be topped (probably rather quickly)

Well, this just seems puny compared to what's already been put up, but here's what I've been working on.



The tower, which it technically the "main" project of mine, currently stands at 5 floors.



This is directly under the tower, accessed by a staircase inside.  This is the entrance of the tunnel network, and as you can see I've marked different paths with easy-to-recognize blocks.  The bricks mark the path up to the house.


The underwater room, connected to the house via the tunnel network.  I probably spent more time on this than on the tower.  Down in the corner you can see a random cavern that was uncovered, and subsequently flooded many times, during construction.

Stuff from Indev version of Minecraft; you have to manually type in indev in the url to get to it as it's not selected as a link.

There's world generation options that aren't in Alpha, like floating islands


Then there's hell version, where the sky is dark and the water replaced with lava...


And you can mix and match, like hell and floating islands

Died and it threw me outside at night.  So took this while running back home as fast as I could.

My "base" is actually the hill hollowed out with a ladder right up through to the tower on top.  The tower itself is mostly to help me find my way back when I run out on a massive pig/cow killing spree or when I get killed, and also because stone towers are cool.

Managed to get a snapshot of the CF server's cave system during a glitch... or at least part of it.

Most of those caves on the right are mine... in comparison to all those neatly ordered ones on the left, it's pretty easy to tell I'm a pretty disorganized person ain't it

o.o i've only had alpha for like two days xD but I still managed to figure out how to create something cool:

I made two water slides flowing around my stone...two story...castle...hut-thing that empty out into the ocean..Kinda like a moat









Its effective too!

Reviving this old thread instead of posting a new one.  Aaanyway...

This is (most) up to date map of Virmir's Minecraft server http://gallery.virmir.com/main.php?g2_itemId=2544&g2_imageViewsIndex=1 (it's set to zoom in so may take a whiiile to load).  I'm currently busy expanding the glass skyway network over the map.  I just extended it to Niro and Foxgamer's bases (though haven't connected them yet), and decided to put this up here:

Does anyone else want their base/area connected to this network?  If so, tell me.  Also please try and mark it on the map above.  For those who don't know how, just hit prntScr to save your current monitor image, and then go into Paint and hit Ctrl+v to put the image on screen; then just highlight the area you wantabout so I know exactly what you're talking about; just trying to describe it will very likely get me confused.
