Considering the speed at which they showed up, I'd say that they ran into a village that had a war flock in it. It took them exactly no time to arm up and attack after Brand got back. That's military discipline. It took just one word from the village elder to mobilize.

So. Brand asked the leader of what effectively amounted to a MILITARY BASE to commit high treason against their commander, and did so in a way that was about as convincing as a mime. How long before Laputa shows up now that they have the two of them pinned?

"Brand is helping" is gonna be on his tombstone at that rate. They ain't outrunning crossbow bolts.

See this is my point. Everyone In the kingdom knows about Sadia. Lets be honest she is Kinda the gem of the Queltz. Why else did you think the Volcano dragons would kidnap her? Why do you think her brother which is an Egotistical prick. Literately would do anything for her? She is not some hidden gem. No she is the nicest Queltz in the entire kingdom. Everyone knows about her and loves her. Why else would A bunch of birds living on an island. Would even know who she is just by the sight of her? Even thou she clearly has never even been to this island.

Still, what did brand do? Well she has to be a tyrant trying to rule the world. So he played the role ignoring the fact that Sadia Would Never do this. Hell why else do you think they never questioned why she is hanging out with a Volcano dragon? She is known for being friendly to All races regardless of who they are. Of coarse they would see something is wrong. As they know if sadia truly had issues with this. She would just talk to them. Just like how she was going to Confront her mother to get Brands wings back.

Ya, i just feel like pointing this out. Reason why i am so hard on brand hear. Is because he is kinda slandering Sadia. A character that he views as a friend. Least i think he views as a friend. I am not so sure anymore with all the sneaking about and backstabbing. Like what actual will happen once they get their bodies back? Would Brand just turn on sadia as she was nothing more then a means to an end? As in the end she is a queltz, and all queltz are psychopaths according to him. kinda makes me wonder if the reason why Sadia isn't as talkative as before. Wasn't because of her body change or that she is ashamed of her family. But because of Brand and his rage issues. Knowing that he could erupt at any point with all this pent up rage.

To makes matters worse he admitted that it was fun to torment the Aves. Which is a Massive and i mean Massive red flag.

I just interpret it differently. Brand is not used to having power or having ANYONE listen to him. He noted how alluring it was to just order the Aves around and not worry about their feelings on the matter. But instead of musing how he'd love to keep doing it, he uses it to explain why the Quetz (not queltz; quetz, as in Quetzalcoatl) are such a bunch of psychos.

Its not a red flag so much as him trying to do a good deed the most expedient way possible and explain what's been going on. It wasn't malign, what he did. Just grossly under thought, half-baked and to the exact wrong audience. Saida should have told him sooner just who these Aves WERE. Now they are in deep poop, because Saida revealing herself will just get them handed over to Vetra FASTER.

They're still slAves. But the one they are bound to obey without question, their commander in chief, ain't erzatz Saida.

Well, reason why i say its a red flag. Is because he morally should not be enjoying it. This entire thing should be a moral dilemma where the *ends* justify the means. He should be feeling horrible at the fact that he did this. Yet he is all smiles and giggling. That is why it is a red flag. He should be appalled that he had to do this. Yet he is enjoying it. Thus why i am saying it is a red flag. As that kind of logic is borderline sociopathic, where you can be a horrible person and have your actions lead to the death of innocence. if their is a noble enough cause behind you.
