Kinda feel like rewriting this. As i want to Allow you to understand what i am getting at. As Brand Might not be the best person for this.
Look, we all know that The Queltz are up to something. What exactly they are doing with the orb is unknown. Are they trying to reunite it with the Uber god and end existance. Who knows, but we can only go on with What we actual know. And that is the birds Do not hate the Queltz. In fact every time we see them they are Almost unnaturally happy. Worst bit is, Their are Birds who have authority over the Queltz, Least the younger ones. This is why i do not think they Actual view them as tyrants or evil. In fact one could argue getting to live in a floating palace, meeting the gods and getting to live a life of relative luxury. Might actual be a sweat gig if you think about it.
That said, who is the one saying this? Who is the one saying the birds are Slaves? Who is the one doing everything? Brand, a Volcano dragon with a very long history of hatred for the Queltz. He hated them sense the first time they were introduced. He hated the whole Gemstone for Rain thing. He hated everything about them. He even hated sadia for a good portion of the story. As if you recall Sadia was the one who attacked him when he freed her from the cage. In short Brand thinks they are pure evil. Hell just look at what he thinks of Sadia?
He is pretending to be sadia true nature. A tyrannical evil lighting snake that yells at people to get what they want. When we all know Sadia is one of, If not the nicest person in Rainburn. Even her brother knew that. Yet you see Brand Yell at people because he is in all honesty Kinda bad at social stuff. So when he messes up he Just yells at them. Like hey do not question what i am saying. Something i think Sadia would Never actual say.
Combine this with the fact that His plan to Save the eggs. Is to Not only force the birds of the tribe to Take them and Run away. But do so without even telling where they are going. In other words she is forcing them to go into exile. Without even a plan how to even do it. Just hey Find me a bunch of birds to take the eggs and Never speak of this again.
And the worst bit is, He never told anyone else about his plan. He is not willing to let anyone else have a say in this. He is so Self confident that this will work. That he clearly has not thought this threw. And we all know how poorly that is going to be. As i Doubt the queltz losing a few eggs will amount to anything. As for all we know they have a 50 other islands filled with birds. And the birds left in exile will be so scared that they will get cursed. That they ironically will become more oppressed by brand then they were by Queen Verra.
