To be fair, Brand is a character who while optimistic had a bit of a bleak outlook on his life. He wasn't your typically angry Volcano dragon. He wanted to help people instead of Burning down villages and stuff, which i guess is typical for normal volcano dragons. This is why he tried to use his fire power To help people, sure for some kind of tribute. thou one could argue that it was more of a Formality then anything else. but in the end as roko stated, he liked helping poeple. Compared to his fate of Growing so big that he cannot move and then Causing a massive natrual disaster due to Hunger pains. It is quite depressing if you think about it.
Saida, In all honesty helped him come out of his shell. As outside of Roko, he really didn't have anyone. Now, he has people he care about and even thou he is still mad at Roko. He still genuinely cares about everyone around him. And brands good nature is coming out. As i feel they both want to settle down somewhere to Provide warmth and rain to a community of their own.
Ps, god only knows what hormones and junk they both are dealing with. Specially considering they are two different species. So what is going threw their head must be crazy and beyond their understanding.
