She isn't dead, just wounded. That wouldn't be enough to kill her. I'm sure they have more than enough time to use restorative healing magics on her provided the arrow wasn't poisoned and they don't have to worry about a greater volley of arrows raining down on them. A simple shield spell and they can rescue her and make for cover. Even if she were poisoned she would still have more than enough time to say "rosebud" before the clutch of death commands her.
Although, to be fair, the arrow usually makes a *Shoop* sound, and the blood bone barrier makes a *Splork* when critically injured in my estimation. *Thok* implies body armor maybe? I could see a bamboo or silken armor keeping with the theme of japanese 'Throne of Blood' stylized action. The tail doesn't exactly seem limp, although the hair on her head does seem lifeless. I have no complaints about the surprised reaction 'though.
Then again, I've met people who thought a sonic or atmosperic-reentry boom followed up by crash sound when a meteor impacted the earth made no sense... ultimately it's just a matter of opinion so I don't understand what's so annoying about suggesting or discussing it beyond the pale.
