Random Topics / Trip To Washington D.C
« on: May 14, 2012, 08:40:24 PM »
I'll be leaving for the nation's capital, Washington D.C, early tomorrow morning. It's a big trip that my school and company work together to make, and I won't be back until midnight on Friday this week. I'm putting this up in case anyone gets curious as to why I'm not online for a few days.

See you on Saturday, since I'll be crashing and sleeping for a while when I come home.

I've decided to give part of an early scene in a story I'm in the middle of making. This is just a rough draft of sorts, so feel free to give criticism, but remember that this is early, but not the very beginning, so the characters mentioned have already been introduced and the setting has been formed. Enjoy the little taste of what I'm making.

-------------------------------

She could practically hear her heart pounding over the roar of the crowd.
How could she not? She was about to fight what could only be described as a monster, in which she is virtually guranteed to die.
Focusing on a technique taught to her by her father, Akilah closed her eyes and just focused on breathing in and out.
   Inhale . . .
   Exhale . . .
   Inhale . . .
   Exhale . . .
It didn't take long before focusing on the steady flow of air through her lungs had managed to calm her. She gripped her quarterstaff and stood up, preparing to fight her opponent.
She quickly went over what she knew of Ganzorig in her mind. She has yet to see the brute of a creature fight, but she'd assume it would involve crushing or smashing, considering his size and strength. She would fair badly with nothing but a quarterstaff. The tarantula could probably snap it in two as easily as she would snap a dry twig. And considering the height difference—
Akilah caught herself and shook her head. Thinking of the numerous disadvantages she had would not help her. She had to think of what she could use to her advantage.
Ganzorig was large and strong, but due to that, he was likely also slow. So perhaps she could get onto his back and choke him into submission. But he might just throw her off, considering his strength and the fact that he has six usable arms.
Akilah stopped her thoughts of how to best her adversary when she heard the accursed announcer call out that it was time for the match. Taking a deep breath, she popped her neck and rolled her shoulders as the gate in front of her opened, filling the room she was in with daylight as the crowd let out a fearsome cheer at the battle that was about to begin.

Just a short thing I wrote to try to get some emotions out. It did help.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's all their fault.

Oh, don't act like those words haven't ran through your mind before. You must've not latched onto them as truth, though. Foolish of you. How very foolish.

It's their fault. All of it. I was fine, my life was fine. They did this. It's them, not me.

Don't turn your nose up to me like that. You think I'm a madman, don't you? Psycho? Crazed? Insane? Bah. I simply speak truth. They've done this to me. They've ruined me, shoved my face into the dirt. Tore apart my life.

You don't agree, is that it? "Oh, it's all you. You just don't control your emotions." Lies! Slanderous lies! Oh, if only you'd know what they did to me. They did this to me.

If you only knew that they're the monsters. Call me what you will, they used me as a damn guinea pig in an accursed experiment. Against my will. They tore my life apart. They did this.

Still think I'm not right in the head, do you? Yes, I know what you're thinking. I don't have to be psychic to know that. You're all so predictable. You all look at me like I'm a monster. Monster. I didn't choose this. You are the monster for cursing me with your own words. They are the monsters for cursing me with this.

None of you can understand me, apparently. Or at least you're too focused on me being a "monster" to listen to me. Don't want to talk to a "monster," eh? Afraid? Don't care? Are my feelings and thoughts worth dirt to you just because of what those damn people did to me?

You're monsters just like they were. Well, fine. Come at me with harsh words. Come at me with pitchforks and torches. Come at me with guns and blades. See if you survive. Come at the monster. Be brave, you prejudice, arrogant monsters.

Alright, I've discontinued my Death Knell thingy in favor of working on this. I may continue Death Knell later on, may not. Who knows? Anyways, on with the show.

----------------------------------------------------------

"Vel'klar xun udos sevir usstan?" I could remember those two voices...
"Sevir ukta wun l' ragrubah xuil l' cahlind lu' l' murrpau."
"Wha...what? Where am I?" I could barely even manage English. What were they saying?
"Zhennu, uk's naut doeb."
"Ghil, ori'gato uns'aa." Then, I got hit in the head by something metal and blacked out.

"Ugh...what happened?" The fennec shook his head and held it as he woke up. "I feel like I was hit in the head by a sword pommel..."
"So you finally came around." He suddenly looked up and looked around, not knowing where the voice came from due to there being no light. He could easily tell it was a female's voice, though. "I saw you getting dragged in here by the guards."
"What? What's going on?"
"You're in a Drow dungeon."
"Drow?"
"Weird creatures. I haven't seen them, but I've heard them talking. Their language is odd."
"So why was I captured? I'm just a farmer from a small village."
"I don't know."
"A new person?" Another voice came in, deep and clearly masculine.
"Who's that?" The fox had to ask.
"That's Kartik. He keeps quiet a lot, so pay him no mind."
"So what's your name? Mine's Jace."
"My name is Alia." A door on the far side of the room opens, but it stays dark like the Drow don't even use light.
"Dos llar, zu'tour phor!" A voice came from the door in an angry tone and the door slammed shut.
"...Uh..." Jace could only manage to say that.
"We should probably just be quiet now. He sounded angry." Alia said.
"...Right..."

Alright, nice little short intro to put together the setting and the characters somewhat. See if you can guess what happens next.

Game Room / Fuzzy'Mon!
« on: March 25, 2011, 05:37:43 PM »
Alright, I got this idea from something that came up in the Chat. Fuzzy'Mon is, basically, Poke'Mon with us fuzzies. Here's how this thread works: you will tell your Fuzzy'Mon's name, evolutions, attacks, and any other information you can think of. Allow me to give an example:

Name: Zavier

Un-evolved: Feral Zavier (Normal type)
First evolution: Anthro Zavier (Fighting type)
Second evolution: Taur Zavier (Fighting type)

Attacks:

Feral Zavier:
Claw swipe (attack)
Faceglomp (attack)
Cuteness (lowers enemy's defense)
Nap (regain some HP)

Anthro Zavier:
Claw swipe (attack)
Punch (attack)
Tail swipe (attack)
Tackle (attack)

Taur Zavier:
Claw swipe (attack)
Ram (attack)
Hind-leg kick (attack)
Trample (attack)

Alright, that's my Fuzzy'Mon. If anyone else wants to make themselves into a Fuzzy'Mon, just reply with the same information: name, any evolutions, type(s), and attacks. Have fun, and remember: gotta catch 'em all! (Gah, now I feel cheesy...)

Alright, new art gallery. I currently lack a tablet, so until further notice, everything in this thread will be made in MS Paint.

Now then, here is something I thought of while looking at a picture of a cat that looked like the Awesome Face. I present to you: the Virsome Face.

Alright, my first attempt at a story on this site! Woo!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 1: Calm Before the Storm

The quiet before the mission. Oh, how Evander loved this.

The grey cat continued to sit on the rooftop of the little rundown shack on the side of the road. He was looking up at the night sky, catching what little glimpses of stars he could with the clouds hanging overhead. In just a couple short hours, he knew, his target would come down the dirt road the shack lays beside. He knew that his target would likely be guarded, but lowly guards are not a problem to him. It's his target, Tamlin, that he knew he would get a fight out of. Oh, how he loved an opponent that tested his skills.

Evander looked down at his sword and sheath. That blade had gotten him out of many-a-troubled spots.  He looked off to his side and he could picture it now: he would see Tamlin and his guards walking down the road. He would wait until the perfect moment to jump down and strike. He would cut through the guards, killing them with ease, then moving on to battling Tamlin. Then the actual fight begins.

He looked up to see the moon had changed position in the sky. About an hour and a half had passed while he was fantasizing. He looked down the part of the road leading west, and saw the faintest glimmers of light.

The guards' lanterns.

He chuckled slightly, knowing that the time for killing would soon come. He then felt a slight tap on his head. He looked up and saw it was starting to drizzle slightly. He wasn't expecting rain tonight, but he just shrugged it off and sat up, watching anxiously as the light down the road got closer and closer.

Well, what do you think? Tell me any suggestions or things I need to fix. ^_^
