Man, Absol's design as a creature clearly isn't intended to lean toward "cute", but the art these past several pages really sells "cute absol".

It's not easy being a harbinger of doom. Everyone always blaming YOU for the doom you simply knew would happen...

Right? And how does having friends work? Are they constantly having disaster happen to them, or do the friends just have to learn the difference between disaster visits and regular ones?

Also, I feel like Virmir's ruthless dedication to logic might make him a good friend to someone who omens doom, because he would be more easily able to understand cause and effect instead of blaming the messenger.

It certainly would have been *funnier* for Virmir to discover his magic doesn't work in this universe.

What level is the little guy that he took Machop down so much? Is his type more effective than Evee's type?

It doesn't look like he took machop down that much. But yes, normal attacks (evee) aren't very effective whereas lightning (pichu) will be normally effective.

O right that's not a dragon head.. that's that eel....Well Roko can steal powers apparently... Can't see that going poorly...

Interesting that Brand's and Saida's powers seem tied to their bodies, but the electric eels power was claimed via absorbing its soul. I wonder how that works 🤔
