(Note: This can be used for writing or RP's, I will eventually write a story or two in this setting as well. It's the setting my characters are in. Ferals, other than mythical beings such as gryphons and dragons, are nothing but regular animals.)

The World of Damain has three continents, Vieros, Candura, and Tecla. Tecla is the ancestral homeland of the human races, it is mostly open plains and forests. Vieros is the ancestral homeland of the furry races, it's terrain varies from plains to forests to deserts.  Candura was the most setteled continent, and home of the Koros Empire, untill a deadly disease known as the Withering Plague swept through it. Once the most populated continent, it has been reduced to a wasted monster filled shadow of it's former self. Though the Withering Plague is now gone, those who suffered it and survived still threaten the remains of the Empire.

The Withering Plague began in the Imperial City, and quickly affected many of the inhabitants. The Plague's first stage was a high fever, the second stage was where it took it's name from, causing random bone and muscles to begin degenerating with extreme speed. The third stage is what caused the most deaths, as flesh and blood vessels began to weaken, causing heavy bruising from the slightest touch and flesh to tear and rend with ease. Those who survived this long suffered the worst fate. The final stage of the plague reversed these changes with extreme speed, causing massive cancerous growths to bone, flesh, and muscle, driving the victims mad with pain and degenerating the nervous system. By the time that the healers learned of the final stage, it was to late. Those who werent dying of plague were quickly being attacked by survivors of the final stage.

After several years, the plague finally ended, and the remnants of the imperial army were able to keep the majority of the victims trapped in the plains surrounding the city. Still, mutated monsters, beasts, humans and furs wander outside the Imperial plains, causing havoc where ever they go. Only about 15% of the population of the continent remains, scattered in walled fortress-cities for protection.

Many adventurers and looters have begun to come to Candura from the other continents, in the hope of finding treasure in the many destroyed and monster infested cities scattered over the continent. Most arrive at the largest port in the continent that has not been destroyed, Port Lark.

The majority of plague victims, despite having spiny bony growths and cancerous lumps of flesh and muscle all over their bodies, are still capable of using armor and weapons, although they tend to be heavily torn from the growths. A small number of plague victims have turned into hulking monstrosities, massive, lumbering, and covered in thick bony plates and spines.

The gods of this world dissapeared at the same time as the Withering Plague struck. Despite this, divine magick can still be used, but it is far more difficult to use. No one knows what happened to them.

The majority of magick users wield one of the Elemental Magicks, Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Metal, Wood, Ice, Dark, and Light. Very few can use one of the Fundament Magicks, Time, Space, Void, Death, Life, Divine, and Infernal.
