And he has the bad luck of dealing with Sir Brand when he is entirely out of fluffs to give. To him, this is an enemy village and he's not wrong. And Saida is worryingly slow in getting with the program.

IMHO he did it to spite the Quetz, not because he particularly cared about the Aves. He enjoyed bullying them into committing high treason, or so he thought.

As for the villagers, who birdboxed Laputa in the first place? They did. And that makes them enemy support at this point, not innocent civilians. As I said, this is an enemy village now in Brand's thinking and he isn't wrong. Saida is so used to thinking of the Aves as part of her family, she forgets that their one and only loyalty is to Vetra-jou. She better get with the program quick, or she isn't going to be able to protect Brand for long.

Finally, Laputa certainly will have a ton of arrows for their Aves. If I were Relshen I'd make sure to have a supply chain ready to go, so they will never run out. And once they realize Dragon!Saida is a meat shield, they're going to flank them. Even a birdbrain like Relshen probably knows that many tactics. And so does Brand. The flames will prevent them from cleanly flanking their position, and trap them in a vice. Do they want to 1) Face a volcano dragon and an extremely angry quetz, 2) Burn alive, or 3) Retreat as fast as they can from that house.

Let them worry about putting the fire out. It gives Brand and Saida a clear shot out of there.

Ya, just going to rewrite this. As man what you said their Depicts brand as more of an asshole then anything else. To the point that brand is coming off as a psychopathic. As the idea of Helping poeple out of pure spite. Means your not actual doing things out of genuine care. It means you are doing things Purely out of Hatred. Hell the idea of bulling person to commit a crime. Just makes brand look Worse then the people he hates. And Mind you the Quetz literately are running a scam with the Sun dragon.

On the topic of the Village. For the love of god Don't argue that they deserve to be punished for Even associating with the Quetz. Like that is borderline Kill them all logic. Where civilians are not actual civilians their just Inactive combatants. Like if they are truly slaves, then they are Victims. Why are you insisting they get punished? That in your own words the are Enemy combatants. When in all honesty they are nothing but a farming village. The only thing they provide the kingdom is Fruit and a egg or two. This is not Reason to Condemn them.

Lastly, is the fact that this attack is over. What did the Head hancho come in with what 10-20 birds. Look at them now half of them are knocked unconscious. The other half are sticking out of the walls. This is because even thou they have crossbows. They cannot actual hurt dragons. Turns out dragon scale is a wee bit to tough for a little stick with a sharp pointed end to stab threw. No matter how many they shoot at sadia. It just dose not do anything. As what is to stop Sadia from just Walking over to their barricade. And grabbing crossbows one by one?

Aves, are weak as all hell. They are not a dragon, sea horse or forest spirits. They don't have access to magic. Hell in all honesty they are mainly guards for ceremonial purposes. You know the real solders are the Quetz. Most of winch got fired by the tailed rat. Brand is Overreacting to their Pitiful attack. As like i said earlier. What is to stop Sadia from just walking up them and taking away their crossbows? Their is no need to Burn down the village over this.
