I really don't blame Brand for being pissed about this whole situation. The entire Quetz/slAve situation sucks and they probably remind him a lot of his little kobold community. But unless he's willing to go horn to horn with a deity that already drank his milkshake once with zero effort, there ain't much he can do. And he already got the crap beat out of him by an evil kitsune and her non-deity son. He ain't ready for that battle.

Saida isn't all the way there yet either. She had a lifetime of indoctrination. That doesn't go away for a long time.

Bigger question is, Why are their Birds who the Queltz seem to let them do whatever the hell they want? Mind you i still think this entire thing was a setup. Like the whole ambush and all that. You can't expect me to look at that and think. Wow the bird just dropped the egg and shenanigans happened. No These birds clearly are Not slaves and they seem to have A lot of power even over the queltz.
