Every time you create a new party member, they start with a Knife and some Tweed clothes. That's how you can tell the lead Reyn is important, while the others are NPCs.

Last I checked the Archmage was a gray.

I expect the Dragons counter playing might have something to do with this, since unless they are behind one of the other races(or multiple)

Last I checked the Archmage was a gray.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the Archmage is a silver fox, which is a type of red fox still (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_fox_(animal)).  That, of course, assumes that the Crimson Flag Comic universe follows reality's designations for the different types of foxes.

Yeah, I remember the page when Lucian figured out how the yellow shift magic worked. That's when they mention Archmage being technically a red. It also explains why he had to reflect Julian's feralize spell rather than just nullify it.

I'm pretty sure the reds didn't rebel since they remain loyal to her and her teachings.

It may be more "lost contact with" or "were forcefully separated from".

Of course, that was such a long time ago, none of them remember what specifically happened.
