There have been stories where the acclaimed deity of worship have actually looked way different from what they were drawn or imagined as. So, this is plausible.

Or, we could be looking at the "dark side" god of the reds faith. Regardless considering that looks like the same staff that caused all the trouble, I think its about to get real.
