"Like I said. You'll see him." I grin and tap the side of my muzzle, imitating my old teacher tapping the side of his nose when he wanted to keep something secret for a bit longer. I suddenly gasp softly and look down, half forgetting I had a muzzle now and had been half expecting to tap an actual nose.

"Oh yeah... heh." I chuckle at my forgetfullness.

I love people. Especially nice people. Especially nice people who give me bellyrubs. <3

"A social affliction? I hope it isn't one of those... you know... people who become jesters in their life? Or some kind of court fool? Least that is what I hear of people who are very strange." She stands up and hands Geary the thing she held. "Keep this pointed -away- from things that breathe please?"

She hands him a few tools to open it up and take a looksie.

"well, alright then. I suppose I'll just have to wait."
* Fenrs looks over to Iasha.
"I don't suppose I could fiddle around a bit, see what I could come up with? If I make anything you like I'll show you how to build your own."

When was the last time you hugged your sammich?

Geary began eagerly examining the items in question, seeing how they work, how they were made, what they were made from, and which side of them was needed to be pointed 'away' from the things that breath. Eventually he found a small trinket, circular and about the size of a pendent. Geary picked it up and looked at it from every angle. The trinket was divided into two parts, he could tell that, and it was opened on a hinge, but he couldn't find any way to get it open. "What is this?"

Geary: That means you get a companion for four levels, then it gets an upgrade.
Draykin: A very PAINFUL upgrade.
* Digital_Vulpine eeps, since the rules don't specify that I'm exempt from the psychic link that Wizards have with their familiars. o_o;

"That?" She looks at it closely "I'm actually not sure. Can't remember." She shrugs.
"Looks like one of my wheel lock mechanisms but it has no wind up handle sooo that drops it."

Geary put the trinket back on the table he found it, trying to shake the feeling that it might be important somehow. "Hm... Iasha, what do you think about making your inventions allowing the wearer to cast magic, regardless of their skills in the magical arts?"

"Geary, allow me to answer that question for you. It needs to be artifacted by someone with a higher skill level than your own and already have its own, rechargable resevoir of magic. There are few talismans that can enhance one's OWN magic use, as they are difficult and expensive to make."

"Indeed, the best way to have some sort of magical abilities in a weapon for someone with little to no magical talent would be, in my opinion, one-use enhancements on individual objects like arrows, since recharging wouldn't be possible for the one whom the item was made."

Geary chuckled at Kiba and Fenrs' observations. "You really think that, do you? What if I told you there is a substance which contains, and amplifies, spells, allowing them to be released by the user whenever he or she wishes? Now what if I told you I have it, and that I can create more?"

"You would be hailed as a genius and a hero... but the mages would scorn and look down upon you. Magic is NOT something that just anyone should have access to. It's a fickle and difficult thing to use, often causing more harm than it helps. Unless of course you only intend to distribute it to mage guild halls... official ones at that. You may be arressted when something goes wrong because of your invention or someone uses it for evil and hurts a lot of people... Nasoj himself could want to get his hands on it and finish what he started years ago... and that may either entail reinforcing the curse on this place or just striking us all down where we stand, and I'd actually prefer the latter of those two."

"I wouldn't exactly know since my skill in magic is zilch and nonexistant really." She said, "Listen to these fellows then, they'd know more than me." Iasha resigned herself from the discussion.

Geary took into account what Kiba said. "You raise a point, which is why there would have to be certain precautions placed. I was thinking only giving it to higher ranking people, and if they turn on us or have the stone stolen from them, then we could have a spell hidden inside to break the stone if the wielder has evil intent. That would surely prevent Nasoj or any of his goons from getting their grubby hands on it."

Draykin: A very PAINFUL upgrade.

"Or better yet, don't make one at all." She said bluntly. "Why risk being reprimanded with something that can be used against you?"

"While it's true that some things are better left un-created, it would still be a good venture. Something like that takes a lot of ambition and skill to pull off. Perhaps it would work with those special precautions you mentioned... except the breaking spell. Nasoj, if he's as powerful as I hear, would likely be able to disable any anti-theft charm you put on it."

I glance over to the mirror hanging on Iasha's wall. "...okay, this is off topic, but I feel happy that I'm this way now... it's just out of the blue, like a euphoria rising up inside me." My tail swishes happily. "Hehe... I'm so cute." I grin.

"Ahem... a-anyway...  yeah. Anti-theft charm... no good against powerful evil wizards."

Geary frowned. "Well in that case, why make any kind of weapon at all? Or magic? Anything can be used against you, can't it? And I think that is Nasoj were to get remotely near the stones, they would shatter in an instant."
