Rain Burn / Re: Rain Burn, page 420

Just feel like pointing this out. As while i cannot find the page he did this in. Their was diagram talking about the Evolution of dragons. Their are 3 general type of dragons, The air, water and earth dragons. Qelts are an evolution of the air dragon. While volcano dragons are an evolution of the earth dragons. All of which are clearly insanely powerful in their own right. AS remember, Volcano are caused by volcano dragons. Who literately erupt into a living volcano. Same could be said about the Qeltz. Who can control weather which means that in truth they could make things like Tornadoes or hurricanes.

that said on the topic of the qeltz being Glass cannons. I would argue that is not the case. The tailed rat is a 8 tailed Kitsune. This means he has the power of a demigod. The queltz he fraught were in all honesty the same age as Sadia was. Which begs the question who they they are in the grand scheme of things. Like do queltz have their own greater society? As they cannot be children of the queen. But regardless they are in D&D turns young dragons. Sure they are dangerous but they are fighting a Demigod. Only natural that they would be out of their league in power or survivability.

On the topic of the durability of her brother. As far as i know they are on par with each other. Hell the tailed rat summoned multiple asteroids to hit him. And it didn't seem to do anything besides piss him off. Still it is demigod vs demigod. Hard to say who would win.

Lastly, i was more wondering in general. As volcano dragons are if i recalled. Said to grow to such a size that they become immobile. They become gigantic living mountains that desire more and more. Only to grow so big that Nothing can satisfy them. Thus they become living volcano that erupt. Still, what is the power of an full grown volcano dragon? Hell what is the Size of a fully grown volcano dragon? as for all we know their the size of freaking godzilla. As in the end everything we seen are young dragons. the only adult dragons we seen are literal gods.

Got to say brands old body seems Very sturdy. Hmm kinda makes me wonder how Powerful Volcano dragons are. Like are they on par with the Queltz?

The dragons are like tanks - slow, but very strong, and they can soak a ton of damage. The quetz are DPSes. Fragile, fast, and can dish out damage like nobody's business, but they fall quickly to determined opposition (See: Suzocon-sama). You might be confusing the quetz in general with Taran. The Prince is as tough as nails, but he's their biggest gun and he's the son of a major deity, ala Hercules. He's also, just like the dragons, not very maneuverable. But he packs a WALLOP. Suzocon absolutely owned their fight until he got cocky and left his guard wide open. Then he suddenly found himself in a real fight.

Saida shows signs of being just as durable, considering her body took a full power White Materia hit from Taran and survived. She's actually better suited to being a dragon than Brand is a quetz! Just watch the Aves, Saida-hime...?

Sunday's post, guess this being late is the universe compensating for yesterday's being so early. Anyway, got a new PHYSICAL/REAL comic done this weekend, so maybe I'll post that a little ahead of the schedule this week.

I can see him becoming a monster, though, if he eats too much mana too quickly. Think Murder Mystery from Mystery Ben's Mystery Skulls music video series (which also features a good-aligned kitsune named, well, Mystery).

Oh wow, flipping through that gallery, I love that character design. Especially the dog form, ha ha

Mystery's backstory is actually a pretty good one. Apparently, like you, Ben did his homework when it came to kitsune mythology.

Over a millenia past in the wilds of ancient Japan there lived a rare and dangerous beast: A nine-tailed yako-kitsune, wild, untamed and imbued with the power of the kami, the Shinto gods. A samurai warrior, Mushi Yukino, went out to face him as he was causing a lot of trouble in the neighborhood. What exactly happened in those ancient times is a...mystery. But as far as we've been shown:

1) Mushi defeated the yako-kitsune in a furious battle, using a magic-imbued blade blessed by the god of foxes, O-Inari, Herself. The battle stripped two of his tails, reducing him to a nanao no kitsune, a Seven-Tailed Fox.
2) As a result of his defeat, he was given a choice: Death or binding to the Yukino clan until O-Inari awarded him the title of zenko-kitsune - Noble Fox. Traditionally a yako-kitsune is bound for five hundred years of servitude before being allowed to join the zenko. Thus, Mystery has been a part of the Yukino clan all this time. Vivi is a descendant of Mushi, so Mystery is still bound to her as her guardian.
3) The battle was quite bloody, and some of his Mystery's blood leaked onto the roots of a cherry tree, which absorbed it. The tree became the demonic yōkai Shiromori, or the White Tree Demon. She attempted to help her "father" in the battle, but when he bound himself to the Yukino clan, he abandoned her. And she was pissed.
4) Shiromori has been chasing him ever since, for all 1000 years he's been guarding the Yukinos. She is thirsty for his blood, as it is what gave her life, and powers her abilities. The ancient demon can form flowers based on the spiritual traces of people she can find, and use them like compasses to locate them. She is a nasty piece of work.

"You can't run forever, mutt."

---

It's always been a major curiosity why he chose a small bob-tailed dog as his primary disguise. Most kitsune disguise themselves in human form, and they HATE dogs - the one animal they have no power over. But Mystery is a very quirky zenko-kitsune.

He's also, of course, meant to be a parody of Scooby-Doo, same as the entire series. As he was once a kyuubi no kitsune, that makes him... Kyuubi-Doo.

I've had this one ready for a while, so I thought I might just post it ahead of Saturday, for the morning people.

I have a dark secret to admit... I made this comic from an ai suggestion on topics. I'm really sorry, I know how literally all artists feel about it, but I was hitting a dry spot. I really want people to give suggestions. The problem is there's already so many historical and geopolitical situations/events to cover so I don't know what to really lean into. Point is, I'll try to make sure it never happens again.
