Writer's Guild / Trubbol and Tonbo's Potion War
« on: April 17, 2012, 07:03:38 PM »
Here's the result of my latest trade, in which Trubbol and his buddy get into a bit of a fight in a certain fox's potion closet.

-----

Trubbol and Tonbo had been having fun today. Kenku had invited the two of them over to his potion store, and had been showing them a couple alchemy tricks. Currently he was showing them a simple shrinking serum.

“You see, a little shriveled willow, and mini poppy is all you need to fit the potions material requirements” he said as the Grey Fox stands there in front of him with the ingredient in one hand, and a flask full of red liquid in the other. Pouring the ingredients into the liquid, it slowly turns clear. “Now then” he says “All you have to do is drink it,” and drinks the mixed potion down.

A moment later, the two of them watch, as with some light sounds of bone cracking, Kenku rapidly shrank to about half his original size, his clothing seemingly keeping up with him and staying in a way to fit. The two of them look at him with a look of slight wonder, and give him a clap.

“So then, that’s shrinking” he said with a smile, and dived into his pocket in search for something. “Uh...uh oh.” He sayed and rifled through his pockets a bit more. “Umm...it seems I left my blue potions in my other coat, could you be so kind and get me one from the storage closet.”

“Sure we can do that” Trubbol said.

“Alright then” Kenku replies and began to climb up a chair to sit. “The closet is just down the hall, and to the right.” He said pointing it out.

“Ok!” Tonbo said, as the two of them headed down the hallway, with Kenku yelling to just be careful with the other potions as they leave.

Opening the door to the closet, the Dragon and the Canine looked over the many glittering shelves of potions with a small bit of awe. The shelves showed a great glow with various colors of lighted liquid, and different bottles of different sizes. Some bottles were etched with the symbol of a Pokemon ball, and others with a simple wave. One shelf however did stand out in the back of the closet. Set about 4 rows up on the back wall, there set a simple set of flasks with blue potions in them, to which the sign on the shelf read “Reversion”.

Seeing what was needed, Trubbol and Tonbo raced over to the shelf, the Dragon getting there first. Flying up to the shelf after the bottle, the dragon accidentally bumped a brown colored potion, which teetered off the shelf and smashes on the floor, releasing a plume of gas that blasts into Trubbol's face.

Coughing and reeling back, Trubbol started to feel the potion affecting him, and stumbled over as his feet as they grow longer and his toes form into three thick claws. The canine then felt his legs shift and grow in such a way that would make bouncing the easiest style of locomotion. His ears ballooned as well, and his muzzle grew long and Triangular, and he was turned into a Kangaroo.

Changes complete, Trubbol slowly got up, and it greeted by laughter. Looking over to his buddy he saw Tonbo rolling on the floor. “Whats so funny?” Trubbol asked as he looks annoyed down at the little dragon.

“I dunno its just, your face as you changed, and...and...you ears...” Tonbo said, as he keeps laughing.

The kangaroo, looked rather annoyed at Tonbo, and then looked around, before smiling with a grin. Pulling a potion off a shelf, he hopped over to Tonbo and grabbbed him. The dragon struggling, Trubbol uncorked it and poured the potion over him, before setting the dragon back down.

The potion absorbing into him, Tonbo grimaced as his wings slowly pull into his back. His scales lightened and faded to almost an ash grey, as small hairs formed out from the edge of his softening skin. Tonbo's ears rounded a small bit, and his legs and arms shortened, as his paws become bigger and his claws better formed in a way that would be adapted for climbing trees. As Tonbo's horns receded in, his nose flattened and grew into a roundish shape, as Tonbo is turned into a Koala.

Seeing the fate of his buddy, Trubbol burst into laughter. His laughter was short however, as he watched Tonbo picked up a potion off the shelf, and throw it at the Kangaroo. Grabbing a potion himself in a panic haste, he quickly threw it at the Koala, and by accident hit the potion Tonbo had thrown. The two bottle crash together and explode in a large cloud of smoke, covering both of them in the gas. As the two choke on the fumes, they can feel their bodies growing rapidly. Scales form over them, and sharp teeth grow in, as the two feel themselves growing to colossal sizes. As the smoke clears, each can see that the other has become some sort of reptilian dinosaur, and are about to remark on it, when their head's hit the ceiling, and with a rattling of the shelves, two more potions exploded onto the floor, covering each in a cloud dust a shade of brown.

As Tonbo felt his newly formed scales shift into fluffy tan striped fur, Trubbol could feel his tail becoming long and leathery. As Trubbol's front molars grew long, and Tonbo felt his claws pop and become retractable. Tonbo's eyes then grew large and round, as Trubbol's became teardrop shaped with slit irises. The changes continued with Tonbo's legs then bending into a short digitgrade shape with padded paws, and Trubbol finding himself walking on his long clawed toes. As Trubbols ears rounded and Tonbo's point, the smoke clears, and each can see what happened to the other, as Trubbol is now a field mouse, and Tonbo, a fluffy cat.

Sheepishly looking at Tonbo, Trubbol starts to creep away from the cats grinning face. The creeping becomes a full on run, as the two start their own game of “chase”. Bouncing about the shelves and ricocheting off a potion or two, the start making a loud racket, but Trubbol is able to keep a step ahead of Tonbo and on his toes. As with any chase however, this does not last for long, as Tonbo corners Trubbol in a corner. A Paw coming towards him, the mouse looked rather scared, when there was the sound of a small door opening and a squeaky yell rang out.

“Alright you two that enough” A shrunk Kenku said, as he stood in the door. The two of looked at him, and understood his stern look. “I told you guys to go look for my reversal potions...and what do you guys do but mess up the place!” the fox said in a raised voice, to which the two of them look at this apologetically. Seeing their faces, he sighs, “well at this point, all I am going to ask of you guys is to help me run the shop for a few days, but right now, we need to get back to normal. That fine with you guys?” He asked, to which they nod. “Alright then, help me up to the shelf,” and so they did, Trubbol sitting on Tonbo, and Kenku sitting on him, as they collected the potions to return themselves to normal.

Writer's Guild / The Hypnotic Suit
« on: April 05, 2012, 09:33:26 PM »
This is a trade story done for Tails230 of DA/FA about a prototype cosplay outfit that...well...decides Chris would look much better in it's skin.

----

The Hypnotic Suit

The sound of the Pokemon battle success music played as Chris’ battle completes. The three tailed fox smiled, and had his trainer wade more through the grass, looking for another Pokemon to fight. A loud knock was heard on the door as he moved the trainer out to the road. Looking up, the fox stepped to the door, and opened to find a large shipment box at the door. Picking up the box, Chris walked it over to a couch and set it down.

Opening the box, Chris looked at the contents with a curious smile, as he found within it a fuzzy black and red suit. Picking up the suit, the fox inspects it. In his hands, he can see that the suit has a short triangular face, and a short fluffy tail. Its large sky blue eyes and canine like face told him it resembled that of the Pokemon Zorua.

As Chris inspects the suit some more, he spied a piece of paper in the box. Picking it up, he reads:

“Congratulations, you have been selected to test out our new brand of cosplay outfit, Pokewow, natural looking outfit that once you wear you’ll swear you’re the real thing. As part of this test, we have granted you a copy of the suit to wear, and all you have to do is check in with us in 90 days. Enjoy!”

“Cool!” Chris went as he put the note down and picked up the suit and felt it. The cloth felt very natural, even thought it definitely was synthetic. The suits fur was very soft, and the nose strangely cold to the touch. The paw pads were rubbery and the claws while dull, were very pointy, showing the quality of the outfit.

With a bright smile, Chris started slipping the cosplay suit on. It was a struggle at first, as his three tails were a bit of a challenge fitting into one, but once that was done, he found the body of the suit slipped on like a glove. Pulling the suit over his body, he smiled contently, the suits soft feel being rather comfy.

Zipping the suit up, the Kitsune pulled the mask over his head, when suddenly something pricked him. “OW” he cried, and felt something in the mask move. Surprised, he turned to a mirror and smiled, and saw the the mask smile back at him, as if it was really his face. “This is awesome” he said, as he wagged his tail and moved it about, his mind wondering what he could do with the suit in 3 months time, and how grand it would be to play a Zorua.

After prancing around a bit, Chris slowly took it off with a slight bit of tug and pull. He found that taking the head off was the hardest part, as it felt like the hood part of it was latching onto his skull. Some careful tugging was all it took although to pop it off, and with a simple smile, Chris put the suit back into the box and headed on with his day.

That night, Chris dreamed a strange dream. He felt himself walking through a forest searching for something. Passing his way through branch and bramble, he felt him mind wandering as if he was looking for someone or something, when he heard a giggle. Turning about, he saw a small Zorua standing beside him.

Confused, Chris looked to her curiously, and said “Umm. Hi”
The Zorua giggled again as he said that. “Why hello there silly.” It said as it playfully approached. “Your cute you know.” she said quietly.
“Th-thanks” Chris replied with a slight blush.

“But I bet your even cooler in your normal shape.” the Zorua continued.
   “N-Normal shape?”
“Yea, you know, like me. C'mon, why don't you change back?” her voice seeming to echo as she says these words.
“Change back? But I'm not a Zorua, I'm me.”

The Zorua giggled at this. “Your so silly, C'mon you know you want to.” her voice began to echo again. Chris felt his eyes getting droopy within the dream, and begins to fall, when he hears a loud BEEEP.

Chris groans and rises out of bed. Hitting the alarm, he gets up and starts to get ready for school. As he washes his face, Chris thought about the dream, especially the strange ending. What stuck out at him, was who was talking to him through most of the dream, and how it reminded him a little of his suit. Packing his bags, he gave one look at the box with the suit inside, and headed off.

The School day went well, with Chris having a good time at Recess playing with his friends, and learning some good things from his teachers. Returning home, Chris quickly put his stuff down and headed over to the suit. Picking it up, he smiled and quickly put the suit on. Moving around a bit and doing his best to make his tails wag smoothly as one, he giggled and looked over himself again in a mirror. Seeing the smashing looking Zorua staring back at him, Chris smiled. Perhaps it was time to have a little fun with this, he thought and headed out the door to the local park.

Sneaking into the park wasn't troublesome at all, as Chris remembered some of the hidden spots and shortcuts that could get him there. Giggling, the costumed Kitsune found himself a large bush to crouch in and scouted the place. Around him, he could see kids playing, parents talking, and lovers kissing on a nearby bench. Seeing the two on the bench, Chris smiled and stealthily snuck over. As the two were about to come together and kiss again, the Kitsune pushed the leg of the bench, causing the guy to topple over on the girl, ruining the moment and causing them to begin to argue. Laughing, Chris ran off and back to his house, feeling rather successful.

That night, costume away and quietly in bed, Chris began having the dream again. Finding his way back to where he had been before wasn't a problem, and within a couple minutes, he arrived at the meeting place, to which she was waiting for him.

Smiling, the Zorua came up to him, with a slight look of concern. “I see you still haven't changed back. Whats causing you to hold on to this illusion?” She asked.
“I still don't know what your talking about” Chris replied. “This isn't any sort of Illusion, this is me.” he pouts.
The Zorua looks at him a little flabbergasted. “You...really think that’s your real self?” she asked to which Chris nodded. The little Pokemon then sighed. “Well then, my cause is lost.” she says and starts to walk away. Chris attempts to walk after her, but the forest suddenly begins to move and swing, causing Chris to trip and fall. By the time he is able to get up, she is all but gone.

The night passes quietly, and Chris woke the next morning confused about what it meant. Getting up, and washing he face, he looks over to the suit and wondered what it would be like if he walked around the school with it on. Worst they could do after all was  tell him to take it off or send him home, and the latter would just give him more time to play. Smiling, the Kitsune suited up, and then headed out the door.

Strange looks followed the Zorua costumed Kitsune as he walked down the hall. Chris smiled at this, and was about to walk into his class, when he is tapped on the shoulder. Turning around, he found one of the school administrators looking at him rather cross.

“Young man, I don't know what sort of joke your trying to pull but I need you out of that costume now.” The admin says to him with a stern look.

“What costume? This is the real me.” Chris said with a chuckle.

The administrator looked at him confusedly, but just smiled. “Well Mr Zorua, as far as I can tell, your not registered at this school. So I will kindly ask you once, either take off the suit so you become a student of this school, or leave the premises at once.”

“But I am a student!” Chris retorted, and was looked on with rage. Picked up by the scruff of the neck of the costume, the administrator forcefully carried him out the door as other students laughed at him.

“And don't come back with that suit on!” The administrator yelled as she slammed the door.

Chris grumbled as he walked home. While he understood why he got tossed out, he was not happy at all with how it happened. In his mind, he knew something had to be done. What exactly however, he didn't know, but he wondered what sort of pranks he could pull. Such thoughts were still on his mind as he headed to sleep that night, and entered into another dream.

As he enters the dream, he noticed he was in the same dream he was in the last time. Remembering the path he slowly walked the path he remembered from before, and soon found himself sitting in front of the rocks where he met the Zorua, although the Zorua was no where to be found. Sighing he called for her “Hello! Miss Zorua!” but got not reply.

Hoarse of voice and tired of trying, the Kitsune was just about to leave the place when he heard a reply. “Alright, Alright, what do you want? I thought you had told me your true self was the guise you were in now.”

“Well, yes” he says somewhat uncomfortably. “But I was wondering if I could get your help with something. I was utterly embarrassed at school, and you being a Trickster...”

“You want me to help you get back at them.” The Zorua sighed. “Fine, but if I do that, you have to at least have to try to become a Zorua.”

Chris sighed “Ooookay” he says, thinking this about it being a dream after all.

“Alright then, then all you need to do is...” and she whispers some ideas into his ear, to which he gingerly nods. A few nods later, the Zorua stops and looks at him and says, “alright, what you need to do is...” was all that he got out before the alarm goes off again.

Chris groans as the alarm went off, but then blinked and realized
he had memorized the Zorua's plans. Getting up, he giggled and quickly suited up for “school”.

An hour later, the school day had begun when there was a sudden scream. From out of the girls bathroom came several students, with a swarm of ants following them. As the kids run down the hall, there is a sudden explosion from Chris's homeroom. The teacher came out covered in shaving cream. As she did, the sprinklers suddenly comes on, causing everyone to start running, as a few people scream “CHRIS!”

Laughing back at home, Chris smiled as the massive prank he pulled, and thought about what he could do next, the suit laying beside him. This was cut off when there was a sudden bang at the door, and he looked in horror a voice.

“Chris, this is the police, we need you to come to the door.” the voice said, to which Chris was starting to panic. What was he going to do, he couldn't run like this, they knew who he was, even in the costume, what was he going to do?

As he stood there thinking, there suddenly was a voice in his head.

I can get you out, just return to us. The voice said.
   “But...” Chris tried to argue.
   Return to us...

Return to us... The voice began to repeat in his head. His head grew light and his eyes begin to feel like their spinning, and his body fell under the voices control. Walking over to the suit, he slowly puts it on. First the legs, then the arms, then the body, and ending with the head. As he puts the head on, there is a sudden snap, and clatter, as all the fasteners from the suit fell to the floor, and Chris's body collapsed to the ground with it asleep. The Kitsune's body begins to rapidly shrink as the suit slowly collapses, muscles and bone break and refuse. His tails slowly fuse together as they become one broad tail, filling in the tail of the suit. The suit having stopped shrinking, the new Zorua wakes and looks around confused. The room looked rather alien to him, and very strange.

The look of confusion was changed to fear, as he hears the banging at the door. Looking around, the Zorua scampered towards where he thinks is the back door, and with a few sudden clicks, opens it and rad for the closest stand of trees.

As the Zorua is running, a small robotic camera watches him, and chirps “Experiment complete, subject has completely become a Pokemon.” As it finished its chirping it flashed as it collected its response, and flew away.

Writer's Guild / Virmir's Dragonification
« on: October 13, 2011, 09:44:44 PM »
As part of a trade, Virmir asked me to write this chat incident: http://art.by.virmir.com/art/i_dont_wanna_be_a_dargon as a story. Here's the result, with slight adjustment in perpatrator as asked by Toast.

The sound of ray guns powering down filled the air, as Virmir smiled. Around him, several people groaned and looked displeased as the words “Invalid Change” hung above the grey fox’s head.

“Come on people, haven’t you learned?” He asked with a laugh. “Trying to transform me into another species never works. Surely you can be more imaginative than that?” He said, laughing a little more.

“Imaginative you say? How’s this for Imaginative!” A voice suddenly said out of the blue. With a swift leap, and a sudden THUD, Virmir found himself on the ground, with a tall grey wolf on his back. Holding a staff of sandwich in his paw, the Wolf smiled and with a quick motion flipped up Virmir’s cape. Before the fox could even react, Fen grabbed two wing like limbs from a pack on his back, and stuck them tightly onto Virmir’s shoulder blades, before leaping off of him.

“Very funny Fen” Virmir grumbled as he got up, placing a hand on one of the wing roots. “But that’s not going to work ei---Huh?” The fox exclaimed as he found the wings weren’t coming off easily. Confused, Virmir attempted to pull them out again, but stopped as he felt two sharp pains in his back, causing him to stumble over. Struggiling to stand up, the Fox felt something along his back fold downward, as if he had a set of rather flat limbs. Confused, Virmir felt his back and his eyes grew wide, as he felt the wings move to and fro, as if they were a natural part of his body.

Fen laughed as he saw Virmir’s reaction. “So what do you think of my new glue?” he asked as he pulled a bottle of glue out of his bag. “It’s FenTech Transformation Glue. Clinically tested to work on all types of materials including toon ink, it bonds objects to other objects as it they were a natural piece of the creature.”

Virmir glared at Fen and grumbled. “Ha Ha, really funny and all Fen, now tell me how to get these darn things off.” He said, and started to struggle and pull at them. His feeble attempts to remove them were short lived as a strong gust of wind suddenly blew through, and caught his wings, causing him to loose his balance and dizzily stumble to the ground.

As Virmir got up and shook off the dizziness, he heard a voice behind him go “Cool!” Turning about, he tried to see where it came from but didn’t see anyone there. As he did however, he felt someone tug on one of his wing’s membranes. Looking behind him, Virmir saw a small jackal observing his new wings happily. The tawny furred pup looked over the wings curiously as he darted too and thorough, poking them and prodding them. “Oh hello Medik” Virmir said as he turned to the Jackal and smiled, trying to hide his disgust, “How are you today?”

Letting go of the wings, Medik started to yammer. “Cool wings Virmir! They are all leathery and stuff, and Dragony, and Flyable. So are you gonna fly?” he asked as he bounced up and down.

Virmir stammered a little as he tried to gather his words, but before he could get anything out, Fen interceded with a sly grin. “Why he can’t fly with just wings, there needs to be more dragon in him. You want to help do that?”

“Sure!” Medik squealed and looked to the dragon beside him. “Toast, can you hold him still?” he asked, to which the reddish scaled dragon nodded. Towering over the little fox, Toast grabbed Virmir and quickly locked him into a shoulder hold, before turning him over to Medik to do his bidding. Nodding to Toast, and grabbing Virmir’s flailing tail, he steadied it out and pulled it taught. Walking away from the dragon, he stretched it out, until it became long and thick.

“OOOOOWWWWW!” Virmir yelped as his tail is pulled out like taffy. “Please guys, this is good enough, I don’t wanna to be a dragon.” He complained as he tried to wriggle free of Toast’s grasp, but the dragon simply smiled and kept holding the little fox in his arms.

“Oh come on Virmir.” Fen said as he smiled and grabbed at one of Virmir’s flailing paws. Popping Virmir’s claws out of his paws one by one, he preened them before handing the paw over to Medik, who pressed them flat and then pulled them out. The Jackal repeated this until they were larger than the tips of Vir’s fingers and toes.

As Medik finished the claws he looks up to the Dragon “Toast, can you hit him over the head a couple times like a cartoon would?” he asked. The dragon simple nodded, and in a quick motion dropped Virmir out of his arms, before soundly hitting him on the head twice, causing him to fall over as his eyes swirled about. As Virmir laid there two small cartoonish bruises formed upon his head from where he was hit.

Stepping over to him, Medik slowly picked him up and quickly blew into his ear as if trying to inflate a balloon. The sound of such a balloon inflating was heard as he blew into it, causing the newly formed bumps on Virmir’s head to grow in size. Soon enough, what originally were two small bumps became a pair of draconic horns that look like Virmir’s antennae, but instead flowed down the back of his head.

The horns finished forming, Toast took back hold of Virmir. Opening his mouth and shoving his hand into his throat, Medik grabbed hold of a wad of Virmir’s ink and pulled it out. Taking a handful of Jalapeño peppers from under his medical cuff, he placed them with the ink in his hands and shook them up, before placing the mixtures back into the spot in Virmir’s throat. Medik then with a flat hand and a firm push popped out Virmir’s vulpine teeth, and getting a new set from Fen, replaced them with sharp dragon chompers.

At this point, Medik and Fen nodded, and Toast set the now Dragofox on the ground. As he did, Virmir shook his head, and began to try to talk. “Ok guys, this-*FWOOM*” was heard, as a stream of fire came from Virmir’s shocked mouth, causing him to flail and scream, and causing him to release more flame.

Calming down after a couple moments, Virmir looked to the others rather flustered, “Why did you do this to me?” he asked, his mouth still smoking.

“Ah cheer up Virmir” Toast replied. “There are many good things about being a dragon.”
“But I don’t want to be a dragon, Id rather just stay a fox!” He grumbled.
“Well, we can change you back later, but why not stay a dragon for a while and see some of the good of it.”
   “Like flying!” Medik yelled out.

“Yea, like flying.” Toast replied with a grin and grabbed Virmir again before he could respond. “Heck, why don’t I teach you now.” He said, and with a quick flap of the wings, a kick off of the ground, and a loud scream of “GAAAAAAAAH!” from the helpless Virmir, the two of them took off into the sky.

Writer's Guild / The Trouble with Summoning the Trickster
« on: August 21, 2011, 07:38:00 PM »
Here ya guys go, my next completed trade. This one with KitsuKyo of FA, about a novice summoner who learns the hard way about summoning something out of his league.

----

Justin smiled as he looked over his masterpiece. The concentrically patterned and connected circles of magic he had been carefully scrawling out overnight had come out perfectly.  Each “point” connected to where it needed to, making a circle that even an alchemist would praise.

Taking a step back, Justin quickly collected the final pieces he needed for his spell. He began to place and light incense candles at equidistant points on the outer circle. He laid the proper tributes of food and sand around the edges. When he was finished, Justin opened his book of summoning and began to chant.

As he chanted the lines from the book for the spell, he absent-mindedly thought about what got him to here. Ever since he was a kid, he wanted to learn magic. Not just any magic; but real magic, like the things of fairy tales. Of course, such magic, he was told, was make believe.  But that didn’t stop him from trying to learn that ways of the illusionist, which he learned well, earning high marks in illusions and acting in school.

His time on stage however, didn’t pan out well, as he found himself stuck in a dead-end career; playing opening acts on the side for two-bit clubs, never reaching toward what he really believed he could do.

All that changed after he stumbled upon “Magnus’ Book of Summoning” on EBay. The ad spoke about how the book could "Summon anything with simple materials and words!"  Skeptical at first, he decided to buy it and after a couple initial spells, He found that it was true.

Having been happy with those spells, he decided it was time to kick it up a notch and summon something of real power, the power to change his life.

Justin smiled as he continued to chant and thought about how in a few seconds his life would change. No longer would he be stuck in a dead end job, looking up on others, and no longer would he be tied by real laws. With this summon he believed he would show them all!

With a wide grin as he thought this, Justin ended the chant with a loud “ENTARDON!”, and awaited the circle’s response. It didn’t take long, as with a sudden eerie howl, a dust devil formed over the summoning circle. It’s winds roaring and whipping around, blowing sand about the room, covering everything in a layer of silt.

Within the center of the whirlwind, the sand began to take shape. Two round and pointy ears formed along the top of a long, muzzled head.  A canine-like humanoid body flowed downward from where the head appeared, ending in clawed feet and a bushy tail. The sand then started to part, and Justin started to see sandy brown fur appear over the body, and a strong canine face. Just a moment after that the dust devil subsided and standing in front of him was a small anthropomorphic coyote.

“Greetings” the coyote said as he stepped out of the summoning circle. “And to what would I welcome this summoning for?” He asks with a grin, a look of deviousness  on his face.

It was a grin that did not last very long however, as Justin looked back with confusion on his face.

“Who the heck are you?!?”

“Oh! Pardon the missed introductions.” The coyote said. “People around this land call me ‘The Trickster’, and I excel in pulling off a multitude of devious tricks; from crank calls and cheap illusions, to having someone fatally fall down the stairs after slipping on a banana peel. You name the trick, I can do it!”

“But, but, your not what I asked for.  I thought this spell was supposed to summon something of great power.” Justin said and looked back into his book.

The Trickster looked at him a bit annoyed, and began to complain. “You don’t call what I can do power? Why, I can---“

“Ah ha!” Justin said, interrupting The Trickster as he caught his mistake. “I was on the wrong page. Now all I need to do is banish him, and recast again.” He said as he flipped to the page. Before he reached the correct spell however, the book suddenly slammed shut on his hand.  Dropping the book and shaking his hand a little, Justin looked up to see the coyote had a rather angry look on his face.

“Are you truly that dense? Do you not see that I can give you power?" the Trickster sighed as he saw he was being ignored. “Fine, you want power?" He said with a growl. "I’ll show you power... Heck, I'll give you a little of mine.” the coyote said, and suddenly flicked his paw.

As he did, Justin started to feel his back itch. Reaching to scratch, he face grew white, as he suddenly felt it covered in a coat of coarse fur.

“Well, not really much of mine.” The coyote said as he flicked his paw again, causing the fur to spread and a long furry tail to shoot out from Justin’s tailbone. “Just enough for you to see...” Another flick. Justin started to feel himself shrink. He watched as his hands started to form into padded paws with sharp claws.

Panicking as he saw what was happening to him, Justin tried to get up, but as the coyote said “how it feels to be in my shoes.” Justin crashed back to the ground, his legs popping and contorting into digitigrade canine shapes.

Scrambling, Justin reached for the book. He struggled his way to the banishment page, but all he got out was a simple “Arb--” before his face began to stretch and meld. Clinching in pain, he felt his face being pulled outward, as if it was made of modeling clay and becoming less human and more canine.

With one final flick of his paw, the Trickster smiled. He looked down at his now transformed victim, changed into a little coyote. Smiling, he asked Justin “So, what do you think?” Angered and scared about what is going on, Justin cried out!  Yet, what came out of his mouth was not curses or even intelligible words, only barks, growls, and whimpers.

The Trickster laid his ears back, snarling at the whimpering cub at his feet. He kicked Justin across the floor. Justin hit the wall with a thud. Stars danced in front of his eyes as he tried to focus on the Trickster towering over him.

“Give me one reason why I shouldn’t cast you into the middle of the desert right now!”  Justin, too dazed and afraid to answer, cowered, tail between his legs. The Trickster then raised his hand towards the sky, and began to chant. The same eerie howl that brought the Trickster here could be heard.

The Trickster opened his eyes to looks at the pitiful soul he was about to banish. Seeing Justin’s very sad looking face, he stopped chanting.  Before the howling winds died, He sat down with a sigh. Justin slowly walked closer, looking at the Trickster, nudging him with a curious paw.

“I… I’m sorry” the coyote said to Justin as he gave him a soft pat on the head. “I get too angered over simple things. I'm a little too full of myself."

There was a pause. "How about this... you seem to be a person of excellent magical skill, yet a bit short sighted and limited in technique, why not learn from me?”

Justin’s ears perked up as the words were said, looking rather curious. “Interested? Good. There is one price although. You would have to cast away your old life, both metaphorically and literally. You may never be able to return to the form you once had.”

The young pup thought about the Trickster’s words for a minute, before calmly nodding. The Trickster smiled. “Well then” he said as he stood up, “Let's get you into a more comfortable form.” He waved his paw in a circle and began to bend the wind around Justin.

The sound of cracking bone was heard as the human turned coyote started to change again. His body stretched upward, and his fore paws became more limber, as they changed into paw-like hands. As his body stretched, he felt his back and spine pop and bend as he stood in a more bipedal stance. His muzzle flattened a little, causing him to cough as his voice box and tongue adjusted to speaking again.

Moving his tongue around a little to get the hang of speech, Justin smiled back to the Trickster. “Umm, thanks” he says, “So, where do we start.”

“We start back at my place I'd say.” The Trickster replied, and began to swirl the dust devil around the remains of the summoning circle. As it touched the ceiling, the Trickster stepped in, motioning “Follow Me” with its paw.

Watching the Trickster go into the dust devil, Justin wondered, for the first of what was certainly to be many times, what he had gotten himself into.  The life he was walking away from, and the life he was going to have. He decided that at this point there was no going back, and with a mighty leap, disappeared into the sand.

New transformation story trade done for Draykin, about the after effects of a little accident at Kenku's shop. Simple yet silly, and yes you can guess where this could so evily lead :P.

---------

It was a beautiful day at “William’s Wonder Drinks”, and Kenku the shopkeeper hummed a happy tune as he wiped his desk. Business had been good, as both old customers and new customers journeyed in and out of the store, some looking the same as they did, others looking “different”.

All in all, a good day, although a busy one, leaving the grey fox no time to take care of smaller tasks, as one look at his cluttered shop floor showed. A shipment of imported goods had just come in, and while he had been able to get them most of the goods on the shelves, much of the shipping materials still sat on the floor.

Looking at the stuff with a sigh, Kenku got up and started to pick up some of the materials off the floor. As he did, the swinging of the door and the ringing of the bell signaled a new customer. Looking up he saw a small Island Fox looking back at him, with a smile on his face.

“Hey Draykin” Kenku said as he looked back at him. “What brings you to my place?”
“Medik said you had a drink I might want to try, so I figured I’d take up the offer.”

“Oh sure, give me one sec.” Kenku said and turned to go back to the counter. In the process of doing this, he tripped over one of the shipping boxes, and ended up tumbling into a nearby shelf. The shelf suddenly began to rock, and stuff began tumbling off it onto the floor.

In a mad scramble of feet and paws, the two foxes were able to steady the shelf. But before they could celebrate, a bright orange bottle toppled over and hit Draykin in the head, covering him in cloud of dust.

“*hack* What *wheeze* was—WHOA!” was all Draykin could get out as he suddenly felt the room around him get larger. “Wha, what just happened?!?” he gasped as he looked at the landscape, The boxes and crates that were originally about half his size now towered over him, as if buildings in a city.

“Draykin are you ok?” a voice boomed from above, the sound vibrations of the voice causing the little fox to stumble.
Looking up, he could see Kenku searching for him from above. “I’m down here, and talk quieter!” he yelled back from down below.

Hearing the little fox’s complaints, Kenku spotted him. With a gentle paw, he lifted him up to face height, before saying in a whisper “Sorry, didn’t expect that to happen.”

“Well you didn’t have to yell!” Draykin replied with a groan. “What hit me by the way?” he asked, as he started to feel a strange itch along his back.
“It was one of my imported materials.” Kenku softly replied. “I sometimes order other maker’s transformation materials for use in my own projects, and if customer is looking for something exotic.”
“I see…so whatever hit me was some sort of shrinking dust?” Draykin asked, as two small bumps start to form on his head and along his shoulder blades.

“Not exactly” Kenku said as he picked up a piece of ceramic off the floor. “Says here it’s ‘Mexican Monarch Faerie Dust,” he replied, reading the label.

“Mexican wha—ARGH!” is all Draykin could get out before there was a sudden burst of fur from his back, and two small gossamer wings started to unfurl from the end of his shoulder blades. As they unfurled and dried, bright orange spots were shown along deep black lines, similar in appearance to the wings of a Monarch Butterfly. At the same time, the bumps on his head grew upward, until he had two small black antennae sitting just below his ears.

“What the…” Draykin stammered a bit awestruck at his new form, to which Kenku lightly chuckled and replied “Its faerie dust as I said, and by the looks you inhaled enough to cause the full change into a Monarch Faerie.”

“O…K…why do you have this again?” Draykin asked, still a bit awestruck.
“As I said, some people want something exotic and well…a mythical faerie is one way.” Kenku replied. “If this is two strange for you although, I could always change you back.”

Sitting down in Kenku’s paw, Draykin thought for a moment about the change as he rubed his new antennae. “Nah that’s ok” he said and began to carefully fly out of Kenku’s hand. “I think this form might be a bit cool, and say…you have anymore I could probably “test” on someone?”

Kenku lets out a loud laugh. “Sure, but make sure it’s someone you know is ok with such things…and don’t make it me.”
“I promise” Draykin said with a grin and giggle, and watched Kenku fetch something from the back of his shop.

A minute later, the fox returned with a small pouch which he hung around Draykin’s neck. “That should be enough for a few uses if you’re careful.” Kenku replied. “Have fun!” He said with a grin, and watched Draykin fly out of the shop, giggling as fluttered his way through the sky.

Writer's Guild / Character Worldbuilding Brainstorming
« on: June 02, 2011, 12:15:47 AM »
I figured I may as well post this, since it would be good to get it out on "paper". Basically, I plan to use this as a writing block and thought bouncer for the world of my Fursona, Kenku Aka William Swiftfoot.

Here's the basic ideas of it I have right now:
High transformation, although limited by spell/scientific skill. So while you might see alot of form shifters, most will be of the more average creature or hybrid, with the more mythical and powerful creatures being found here and there, and many the case such creatures being originally that way. Most if not all TFs are also reversible, although how to do some may take some work depending on strength of spell, will of victim, and materials at hand.

No completely Inanimate TFs. Its just too hard to hand wave such TFs, and while I think I could get away with "Body that functions like a car", any further than that just is hard to explain.

Mid-High Magic. A good fantasy players foray when it comes to spells, but there are no grand rituals that would allow a person to reshape reality to their wishes. Time spells are also very limited to short term alterations(don't really want to try to deal with paradoxes, not to mention they can be such a realm changer).

Modern theme with fantasy styling. Present day makes the most sense for the character, even if his outfit is a little out of place. Magic has affected civilization and thus helps with the comforts of daily life although.

While transformations are prevalent, a person always has a "Signature" form. This is the form to which he will always come back to some time or another, even if this form is not seen in public much. This is also the form that he/she will return to if there comes such a time in which they must revert a transformation, especially baleful ones set on them by another. This doesn't mean a person couldn't quickly shift forms again to hid such forms, but there is always that go between.

This "Signature" form can also change, a person's mind, body, and soul can only take such changes 2-3 times in their life at most, and doing so requires very powerful spells to do so.

I haven't really thought far more than that right now. I do have the a couple places that have in a way popped up in stories and RPs(Kenku's house, lab, store, and stand, The CF Clubhouse, A park for transformation competitions), and Ive thought about governmental ideas, but thats the main things.

So...yea, thats what I have for the moment.

23
I figured since I posted this on my journal, and some can't see FA, Id post it here. Every so often I run into weird questions and thoughts and try to make sense of them. This is one of them:

In a world that transformation magic is common place, what would a court system look like, and who would be the ones that would be residing over the cases?

So what do you guys think the answer would be?

Writer's Guild / Loose Ferrets: Seeking the Glen
« on: March 16, 2011, 08:01:32 PM »
This is my part of a trade with Traxer, about a little adventure in a certain artists head...

-----------------------

The untapped territories of an artist’s imagination are vast and empty. White space goes for miles in all directions, nothing changing, nothing stirring. In many ways it is a blank canvas waiting for someone to apply the brush, and send the critters scurrying away to create new ideas.

It is among this sea of white that Geo, the Artist’s Muse, thought to himself about what to do. A big project had come up for the Artist, and of course, a big project needs a lot of ideas. Unfortunately, the idea rodents had been few and far between, and while the wacky inspiration ferrets had been running around in their usual crazy fair, they had not popped up more than a few small fragmented mice. Thus, Geo sat there, wondering what he could do to spur the creation of the creatures.

As the Raccoon sat there pondering, a familiar grey and white bear-dog like creature came up over the horizon. Seeing Geo he greeted him “Hey Geo, How’s your day been going?”

“Oh hey Ronts,” Geo said as he sat on his thinking stump “it’s been alright, just haven’t been able to find a lot of ideas, and the project’s deadline is starting to loom. Just wish I could find a nice group of ideas to weed and pick from.”
   “What about the ferrets?”

“Eh, they seem to be more interested in playing games of hide and seek and carpet shark than hunting the critters. You know how fleetly inspiration can be after all.” Geo said as he sighed. “If only I could find how I got to the brainstorming Glen.”

“Brainstorming Glen? What’s that?”

“Why you have never heard of the Glen? I’m surprised I haven’t spoken of it. The glen is this legendary place where ideas like to cultivate in high numbers. That would probably solve the idea drought problems, but I can’t remember how to get there...”
“Why not see if the Ferrets know”

Geo looked up to Ronts and got up from the stump, “You know, you may be right,” he said began to walk off, to which Ronts followed curiously in tow.

Walking a short distance, the two of them spot a small group of ferrets running in circles, chasing each others tails, and slithering around a large shag rug. (Some with foam shark fins on their backs). The ferrets stop and look at the two as they walk up, their tails and heads twitching in stark curiosity.

Taking a quick moment to make sure he has the group of Ferret’s attention, Geo cleared his throat and said “Would any of your know how I would find the Brainstorming Glen? I kind of need to find it to help build up a big idea.”

The Ferrets look to each other with looks of intrigue and curiosity, before grouping together and starting to rapidly squeak, the pitch of it getting higher as they go along. As fast as the squealing began although, the talking dies down, and they all look back to Geo with small smiles.

“So do you know where it is?” Geo asked again, and the Ferret’s simply nod in turn. “Great!” he replied ecstatically, but before he can get anything more out the Ferrets grins turn devious, and in a sudden flash of grey fur, they scattered off in several different directions.

“Hey wait!” Geo said as he tries to chase after one of them, only to watch it dive down a plot hole, and out of the muses reach. Growling with one final swipe at it gets away; he sighs and goes looking for the others. By this point however, all the ferrets have disappeared, leaving him defeated and wondering what to do.

“Gosh darn Inspirational Ferrets…always wanting to play…” Geo grumbled as he stat back on his stump.
“Well that’s how they work in the end and help find ideas.” Ronts replied as he walked back up.
“Well yes, but sometimes I wish they could be more…” Geo said as he began to ramble and rant. As he did, a curious plot hole opened up behind him and a ferret began crawling out.
“Umm…Geo” Ronts tried say as he saw this trying to get his attention. The words being said to deaf ears as Geo continued to rant and rave. All the while, the ferret got up and began to bend back and forth behind him, trying to stay a quiet as it could. Smoothly and silently it crawled up Geo’s back, and with a quick tug of the top, snatched Geo cap.

“What is it?” Geo says grumpily before he noticed something was wrong. Waving his hand around his ears, he realizes what happened, as the ferret ran off with a bit of a cackle. Spinning around, Geo quickly chased after it, as the ferret continued to giggle with glee. The cat and mouse antics went on and on for several minutes, all the while the ferret giggling in glee.

As abruptly as the game started however, it stopped, as the ferret suddenly stops in a circle of grey fur, allowing Geo to catch the ferret with a thud. Taking back his hat, the muse smiled, and began to step away, when he suddenly felt himself being lifted off the ground. Before he can even react however, a sudden wave of motion causes him to fall on his back, as a carpet of ferrets began to carry him along.

Confused by what’s going on, Geo tried his best to wrestle his way away from them, but for all the thrashing he did, the fuzzy carpet simply bobbed and weaved, keeping him on it. Having no luck, the muse sighed and let the ferrets carry him off.

Several minutes later, the carpet suddenly stopped, and the raccoon muse is softly set back on the ground. Getting up, Geo looked around wondering what this whole mess was for, but only finds one of the ferrets with a box of crayons in its mouth and a piece of paper in his hands. The ferret looks shyly at Geo and beckoned him to take the paper and crayons, as if it wanted to him to draw something.
Geo looked at the Ferret with a sigh. “And what good does this do me?” he remarked back at the ferret, still in a bit of a rage. The Ferret just looked back at Geo with sad face and nudged him. “Oh fine…” Geo said with a sigh and took the art materials. Sitting down, he began to think and color out what he remembered the glen looking like. The reds and yellows of spring flowers, the bright green of the grass and leaves, and the almost clear blue grey of the river that fed and flowed through the glade. Of course, the glade also had a lot of grey, as the he drew little ideas peeking in and out of the shrubbery. As he continues to color the picture he smiled.

Oblivious to him as he smiled, 7 small idea rodents each one of a different color of the rainbow slowly appeared behind him, and began to scamper about. As they moved place to place, their tails colored small parts of the area around them, which slowly expanded and formed, starting to fill out the shape of a meadow with a large pond. These shaped were slowly colored and textured as the ideas criss-crossed the plane, and as Geo finished coloring his image, the Glen was finished as well. Putting down the paper, Geo looked around in a bit a shock, before chuckling with a smile, and patting the ferret on its head.

“Hey you did it.” Ronts said as he ran into the glen, looking a little awestruck but happy.
“I guess I did” Geo replied and pulled out his net as the ideas started to appear. Smiling to Ronts and the Ferret, the three and them charged down the hill, ready to gather up as much ideas as they could, laughing all the way.

Here's the second of the three trades I owe. Akusai of FA gave me free reign and after a description of activities, I came up with the energy drinks(originally it was going to be a cardinal, but I decided this would be cooler)

Role Play Theater / Chat Based DnD?
« on: November 20, 2010, 10:12:43 PM »
Since Alias had brought it up, I figured Id ask. Would anyone be interested in trying a One-off DnD game over chat? I figured this would be a good way to test if it was viable, and I have a couple of the Living Forgotten Realm modules for 4th on hand.

All 4th edition books are allowed, as are Jonas's anthro races.

Game time would probably have to be between 7 and Midnight EST(GMT -5) if during the week, or between 10am and 9pm EST if on Saturday or Sunday.

So, would anyone be interested?

Figured Id post this here for people. This is the first story of three trades Ive been needing to get done. This one pretains to OmniKitsune's character and a shiney pendant he found.

« on: September 30, 2010, 11:49:07 PM »
I figured with the option now available, a post for this is needed. Basically post here if you are looking or have TF2 items for trade.

Ill start it off with that Im looking for a Gunslinger. At the current moment I have several singles when it comes for Vintage items and an extra beanie hats. If anyone is interested in a trade, lemme know on chat.
