Uhh, Dimitriy? I mean like build the whole gun. Start with the bone bare upper and lower receivers, add the trigger, safety switch, and all the other things associated. It's pretty easy to do, and i think costs less overall. But I think you were thinking of the fieldstripping, which is delightfully easy.

Lol, you'd think someone would have applied for the first position before the second. If you are interested just put up a link to your ref and I'll give you a heads up if I put you in. (you would be a gaurd of some sort.)

@ Dimitriy, you should invest in an AR-15. It's the civilian availible version of those two guns. If you have the aptitude you could also just build one from a kit. (all my posts seem to come back to the AR. Lol)

@Meat, yeah, the H-bar is a pretty popular addition, it keeps the barrel cooler due to it's mass, and let's the gun stay accurate over long firing times.

@Digital Vulp., I aphadnt thought about the licensing thing, but there are so many people who make so many versions of the same gun, what does it matter? I dunno about the first part, it didn't stop CoD at all..

I think the whole 'game not specifically naming guns' is due to the fact that most military issue weapons are just letters and numbers (AR-15, Ak-47, M60) that kinda nonsense.

And as for moose? You don't necessarily use a large caliber, but you need TONS of powder behind whatever shot you plan to use.

I didn't realize they made working guns with brass frames...

Yeah, basically what you said... I may just paste of bit of that up there as that articulates quite well what I was looking for.

Ahem, I apologize (reeeaally poor choice of words I admit). I'll edit slightly, but the characters wouldn't be in any speaking roles, nor would they probably be doing something they wouldn't normally do. I s'pose a better way to word it would be that I just wanted some filler people for crowds. I don't mean any disrespect, I happen to use different ways of saying things, and sometimes it comes out right.... And as above, sometimes it doesn't.

But on your advice I'll change it slightly.

It doesn't matter to me, I'm just going to take the refs posted and (edit) put them into a role to fill up some extra space, it's just a little easier to work off of a picture reference rather than having to come up with tons of extras on your own.

Awesome guns! I like the civil war and the era immediately after that for weapon designs (I like western style stuff). But i think the loading of the revolver would eventually get on my nerves. I don't really have a big enough hunting rifle for up here (In AK, we usually aim for moose, not so much deer), and .223 is kinda small for that job.

Anyhow, how well does the Colt shoot? Assuming of course you've been out enough to check its accuracy.

Heyo, me again! So I'm working on a graphic novel for a school project (it is going to take all year long to complete) and I am begging to run out of ideas for 'throwaway' characters, such as shopkeepers annoying pedestrians or just the general crowd.

So if you wanna give me a hand, just post your ref of whatever character you want to add as an extra and I'll shout out if I use them, as well as post up the page you'll be featured in when it's complete.

I can do this all on my own, but your guy's help would tremendously expedite the proccess and help me finish on time.

Edit: On some further advice from one of our esteemed members, you can specify what your character should be doing, bear in mind that some of the places are just shops and the street. But in the words of Tvorsk:
What I mean is that for example while Kenku would be a good shopkeeper (or quite possibly a pirate-musketeer {;)), he probably wouldn't like to be drawn, even in the background, as the royal executioner with a huge axe.
If someone is an armorer, you probably could draw him as that, or as a basic smith he probably was before specializing - but he'd probably wouldn't "feel right" drawn as a mage. {:P

And of course, nearly anyone, except maybe assassins, can be drawn as "just a random pedestrian".

So as long as you'll listen to the short basic "(s)he's that and this and would never that" one-two sentence description people would sure post along the ref and honor that when choosing as to what place and occupation to draw this particular background stunt-fuzzie in, all sides should be happy. {:)

That sums it up pretty well.

Lol, felt like Voltar when writing it..  Anyhow, do you know if he goes and shoots with them? Generally the rennacters from what I've heard like to use black powder In thier loads for authenticity.

Now is that the colt peacemaker? I cant remember if that was a nickname or what it was actually called..

How so? I don't believe I break any of the rules. And I thought it might be interesting to discuss these things with people.

If you couldn't tell from my avatar (if looking back on this years later the avatar is the Ruger logo), I happen to have a particular affinity for guns.

Now some people have never touched a gun in their lives. Some have misconceptions, and others couldn't care less about them, and would prefer to talk about the shiny new claymore they got.

Welp, here's the place to talk about all that dangerous nonsense! If you have a question about any weapon, want to flaunt your zombie-preparedness, or otherwise bask in deadly glory, just give a shout out here!

Since this is the first post, I'll give you guys a bit of an idea of what could follow.

I currently own a Ruger Superblackhawk single action revolver and a Carbine length AR-15. (I have others, but in order to keep Internet predators on their toes I won't mention them.)

So, to start off, if you've got absolutely no idea what the listed guns even ARE above. Post! Start a conversation! It doesn't even have to be relevant to this! It is the 'random topics' area after all!
