On his younger, less menacing self, I could easily see them as being these:

(Muahaha, I linked TVTropes again. All your time are belong to us ...)

Or maybe they're normal glasses and Virmir is too lazy to draw eyes behind them.
They're shiny glasses of doom! http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ScaryShinyGlasses

Speaking of which, wouldn't the head wizard, assuming he is aware of this, be somewhat more concerned about a massive spell charging up beneath them all?

Yeah, it's supposed to be you, playing cards with someone offscreen. I was sort of going off your avatar. (Actually, the proportions could be better - I'll have to try again sometime I'm not as rushed).

Let me know if there are any other details you want me to add to future appearances.

Some wild and baseless speculation on the backstory of the glowy-rod-of-doom edit Staff of Adorableness:

So we have this magical device whose apparent purpose is to turn anthropomorphized creatures into animals. Perhaps in the distant past there was some sort of conflict between Faction A which wanted to anthropomorphize things, and Faction B, which was trying to turn everything back into animals. Since the present world is populated with anthropomorphized foxes, we can surmise that Faction A won and ended up destroying and burying the tools of Faction B. (Or maybe Faction B won, but wasn't thorough enough in purging the world of intelligence, and left. Some foxes remained and populated the setting).

It's one possibility. It also provides potential plot hooks to fix the queen and Bryce's condition.

You could have an archaeological quest to find Faction A's lost knowledge and/or tools to fix Julian's mess. (An excuse to tour more of the world! (and drag more of it into the conflict)) Faction B could end up being the bigger-bad that finally unites the Reds and Greys.

Ooh, bonus: Maybe this ancient conflict has something to do with the Red's cultural aversion to summoning things. Maybe one, or both of the factions were summoned (or invited themselves into) the world, and the Reds don't want to attract the attention of one side or the other.

Okay, I'll stop wildly speculating now and let the author tell his tale.  [:P

Play appropriate infiltration music. :-P

The squirrel is supposed to be Risu. Squirrels are always pulling crazy acrobatic stunts to get places they aren't supposed to go, so I figured a ninja would be a good fit. :-P I went mostly off people's avatars for this one.

Don't! It's a trap! :-P

This is a very rough sketch inspired by the events of two or three days ago in the chat, when Evilhumor decided to start handing out antimatter muffins.

Ah antimatter, peerless starship fuel, terrifying nuclear weapon, ... baking ingredient?

Thank you all for your kind comments and attention.

So far the characters I have sketched are rather generic. (I do need to work on making them more individualized - expressions, faces, hair, ect) I notice many of you have some rather well developed characters of your own. With your permission, may I attempt to draw them sometime?

(With school picking up pace soon, I might not have much time for art, but I might be able to spare an hour or two on the weekends or so).

Art Gallery / Crazy Airship Boarding Action

So yesterday, I was thinking:

Assuming you've joined a steampunk airship navy at war, but you're bored and you need more excitement, what would be the next "logical" progression in crazy-awesome? How about a death-defying boarding action in midair with gunpowder-rocket assisted hang-gliders?

After seeing what all you digital artists are capable of, I've been trying to come up with a few cartoony doodles of my own this past week.

My previous efforts were more along the line of bad MS Paint scribbles, in terms of digitally coloring anything. Virmir's ustream videos showing his drawing process really helped though. Layers - they are wonderful things.

While I will probably never be an artist, at least now my pencil is obeying my imagination, and I can color the images halfway respectably. These were done with GIMP (open source image editor) and a cheap graphics tablet (default Windows drivers, no pressure sensitivity or anything fancy).

Anyway, here are two that sort of fit with the theme of the website:

This guy is some random grey fox wizard, doing what I imagine wizards spend most of their time doing. Trying to take over the world! Reading up on how to do it.

This is a black cat black mage casting something burny. (Also, it looks like his hat is about to fly off or something. I'll have to fix that in later versions).

If I had to guess, I'd say that at some point, Lucian's loyalties will be pushed too far.

So far, he has been admirably loyal to his adopted country. He knows his father's scheme is crazy and will end up getting a lot of people killed, so he's trying to head off a major war.

On the other hand, his entire family is on the other side. Lucian may be opposed to Julian's plan on every other level, but Julian may believe he can control Lucian via familial loyalty if things go hot (since he seems to be doing everything in his power to provoke total war). If everyone you know and care about will get stomped if your enemy loses...

The reds may have good cause to be suspicious of Lucian if things do end up going that far.

I've been reading your comic, and the others hosted on your site for the past few months, and I wanted to say I really like them a lot. Thank you for the great stories!
