"You always hear those stories of how ideas come about, in a bright epiphany, in startling revelation, in the throes of an epic storm on the high seas.

Usually ideas come during a menial job, while stuck in traffic, or being put through a rubbish experience.

You really Just Never Know."

You have no idea how much I can relate to that. In fact, I don't think I've ever had an idea in a bright epiphany, startling revelation, or throes of an epic storm on the high seas, or anything like that. And I do get a lot of ideas.

I don't care all that much one way or another, but I do kinda hope Sierra's spirit won't  be water, since water/fire is a major cliche. But like I said, it's not that big a deal. Just a detail in a larger story.

So it seems Sierra's staff has a tenant too?
Also... is "Misstress" a typo, or a hissing voice? {;)

Is it in the staff? I thought it would be *in the person* sorta like possession?
But then again... are spirits required to do magic with things like staffs and such??
And what are they too.. natural creatures made from the spiritual energy? or something artificial the by product of chucking so much magic around? ]:O

I'm not sure, but I think they are some sort of creatures made of some kind of (cosmic or spiritual or something) energy, and are exist in different elements like that on of fire, and I think sierra's will be of water or "electricity".
And when it comes to the staffs so do I think they need something too bond them in, and the first one to bond one used a staff, and i become like a tradition to bond these in staffs.

Just a theory, what do you guys and gals think?[:P

I think magic, being an element that, by definition, defies other laws (depending on the magic: gravity, movement, time, etc.), probably has unlimited number of true theories on how all this stuff works. Even contradictory ones, it being magic and all.

Also, welcome to the comic, Yllavyer! |:)

It's cool how his sword can spark with what appears to be green electricity though.

Don't play with summons, because only YOU can prevent forest fires!

And hi Scott and Sarif, welcome to Crimson Flag!  {:)

Thanks, DV, or Dig-Vulp, or whatever you call yourself for short, ]:) Glad to be here.

In response to your query about what people think of the new paper, personally I like it well enough, but I don't really care either way. Initially I thought it was supposed to be that a background  came into the imagination. I do think it's important to find a paper medium and stick with it, or people could get confused, so from that angle I would say to stay with it.

I like the comic so far though, glad to have it here. Almost as much as the fox emoticons [:) {:) ]:) |:)

They never got along with each other as kids. I'm assuming
Funny, I was thinking the same thing  |:P
Y'know, I get the feeling that Lucian is far more powerful than he lets on.  All we've really seen him do so far is fire orbs of varying strengths; the one possible exception being the arrow he enchants at the beginning.  At the same time, third level seems to command some respect, if the kowtowing that was done on this revelation is any indication.  I'm forced to conclude that he's either very specialized, or will show off some more varied skillsets as necessary.
That should be fun to see in the future.

Also, I love Bryce's expression there in the first panel. "You witless minion" seems to be the implied thought.  {:)

I knew that tension from the last page was gonna boil over...

I notice Lucian failed to mention to Bryce earlier that those relatives don't really like him so much since he left for Caerryen.

Haha, so we finally see CF lucile! .. I wonder if she was expecting the visitors to be her cousin.. as Im sure only Lord Uryocuon and his closer aides would know about the plot to kidnap the queen.

Hihi and Welcome Sarif!

Thanks, Kai, I'm glad to be here. Great comic you guys are running here.

I particularly like the fox-emoticons {:) {:) {:)

I'm curious though, Lucile seems to be a significant person in real life. Enlightenment, anyone? (assuming that doesn't overstep my bounds).

I think, in some ways, page 104 is at least equal to page 100 in landmark terms, seeing as how chronologically, this is the two year mark. It also makes for a good place for my first comment {:)
