I wonder if they have a plan B if one of them overshoots the landing....
Heh. He should be glad Scary!Rei isn't there. She'd insist on going straight to Plan B. (Refering to Neon Genesis fanfic called Nobody Dies. Which has Rei saying, "I love plan B! It's always so much better than plan A!" Scary!Rei is a screamer, not the quiet wilting Rei of canon. Of course even better Plan B line is given my Misato. "I like plan B! I could see Plan B through my eyelids!")

That said, yeah, if their ship is told to flee as soon as they jump... They would seem to be required to either defeat the entire crew of the Death Evan or face death or capture.

On the other hand he is thinking of her safety. Then again considering the events of the first few strips that is probably something he thinks about a lot now.

Hmm. Bounced through a few ideas and finished on: Feral fox style Holmes and Watson

I've been enjoying your feral style pictures.

Hmm. Can't say if Bryce has any inappropriate feelings for the Queen. But on a totally less serious note, I love his glasses. I'd love to get a pair of rectangular lens glasses. Pince-nez style too, although with my nose being a bit crooked I'm not sure how well that would work.

Hmm. Is he perhaps the kind who remembers people but has trouble with names? Not sure we've seen enough to tell.

Developing on this, perhaps he remembers people not through names, but through actions. Lucian remembered her as "The girl who made the shield really well that one time" rather than as "Sierra."

More interesting, however, is her developing OBSESSION with him. Why is she so obsessed about whether he remembers her or not? Crush/Love Interest? ];) It'll take a bit more time to tell.
It might not be so much obsession with whether he remembers her name, but surprise that he really did remember her. Looking back at the last panel of page 48:

"And I'm sorry... What was your name again?"
"Oh... Sierra Wodrose, Level One Mage-- I mean Level Two, Sir. You were my evaluator two months ago during my exam patrol... don't you remember?"
"Ah, right, I remember now."
"sigh"

At the time I read that as Sierra thinking to herself, "Yeah, right, sure you remember," and figuring that Lucian both didn't remember her and didn't think much of her. I have the suspicion that either Sierra has some significant self image problems or she just simply doesn't have any real experience other than training and doesn't yet have confidence in herself.

I like the design of this horse-like creature. [:)
It looks to have somewhat similar 'toes claws' to the Vedrig. So a horse type creature with perhaps something more of a fighter in its background.

I'm going to guess that air piracy is rare, as our trader's conversation with the queen implied that such ships are currently rare. I'm guessing that anyone who has one at the current time is likely either working for a state, or both wealthy and holding social standing (I'm guessing that Alopexia is a land of merchant princes).

And I wouldn't put it past the gun to be something unusual. I mean we are talking about a ship captained by a guy who loves him some unusual merchandise.

A cliffhanger ending. You've been paying attention to how to write good stories, haven't you?  |:P

I'm foreseeing complications galore for our characters. They've got an injured wanted man, a baby, a battle likely to break out at any moment, a mysterious winged woman... But hey, at least at the moment they aren't being shipped off to a mine. Should be fun to read.

Hello everybody, another new reader here.  I really like the comic, although some questions arise concerning the Reyn's apparent population density relative to their apparent technological/magical development, that's a potential discussion for a different topic.  Keep up the good work!

Also, I'm using these smileys in my e-mail from now on.  They're just that cool.  {;)
Hello fellow newcomer!

Considering that there were apparently some powerful artifacts found in a cave. I'm going to guess that the current powers and built atop a previous power. Sort of like post-Roman Empire Europe. It's possible that they've been digging into any record they can find to find old knowledge in addition to using what they figure out on their own.

But as you say, really ought to pull that discussion over to a different thread.

Another sudden thought. What will have happened to poor Edmond? I get the feeling he wasn't in on Julian's plan. At least not the real plan.

Er, right. Different thread.

Interesting user icon you've got there.

Hmm. Is he perhaps the kind who remembers people but has trouble with names? Not sure we've seen enough to tell.

But I'm going to guess that whatever magic lets the ships fly also tones down any wind. You wouldn't want a complete block since that would suffocate you. But you could probably simultaneously cut back on the wind that hits the deck and make the ship more aerodynamic.

Then there is another answer. "It's the result of sufficient application of unobtanium, Bob." "Why are we talking about this Joe? Everyone knows how this works."

I have ventured here from the year 1993 to ask this:
ARE THERE ANY MUFFINS LEFT?!?!?

also, SAAAAAAAANDWICH.
Sorry. I ate all the muffins. They were chocolate. They were delicious. I miss them.

But, there are some liver sandwiches left. No one over here wants them.

Yep, I read Girl Genius as well. Hmm, and apparently it's Jägermonsters. I've been calling the wrong thing for years...

And yeah, I've got two semi-inactive characters on the RPG portion of the Cyantian Chronicles forum. Pithani, youngest student (and shortest mouse student) on campus and one of the student librarians, and Verdi the wimpy fox.

Wait... Is Sir Voltar reading the speech balloon? Oh, he must be like Deadpool or Squirrel Girl and realize he's in a comic strip. Or maybe I'm in too much of a silly mood. :p

But yeah, agree with KaiAdin, at least for the moment Bryce seems to have decided that Lucien is useful.

*slips in and looks around*

Ah, this seems to be the place where people introduce themselves. Although I have already poked my head into the chat. I'm ze fluffy one, who also answers to Steven, occasionally 'Hey you', but preferably not to a late summons to dinner. I live in cold, cloudy, and wet Arizona... Er... Wait... well it's cold and wet right now. Usually bone dry and hot, but we seem to have borrowed some other state's weather for the moment.

Anyway, I have survived wind, rain, work, and a power outage to come and say hi. "Hola all!"

I come by way of MCA Hogart, AKA Haikujaguar. Which is to say she pointed to Tod over on LJ and said people ought to pay attention to him. Then he mentioned new strips appearing here an on his Dracula comic (and not too long after one's appearing for Ekwara), so I started lurking here and occasionally making comments on LJ and dA. And finally this past week was momentarily insane enough to do another forum registration. :}

As for the comic...
Poor Miss Wodrose, she must think the world has gone most insane around her. Sir Bryce is obviously crazy. Sir Lucian needs to find a clue-by-four to poke his father with. Repeatedly. Poor little sister, you know I bet if someone unchained the queen she would be willing to give Emiline a pat and a hug (and freedom from a father who would do such things to her). And poor Sir Voltar, learning the hard way that the old Jeagerbeast saying about plans that involve losing your hat apply even it it is someone else's plan.
