Power to instantly grow or shed full body fur (no control over random color, pattern or length, and no species change).

This would come in handy if you were ever stranded, unprepared, in a temperate-to-cold wilderness.

The power to suddenly get very lethargic, tired, cold, and spaced out. (No, seriously. Someone help me out here. It's an annoying precursor to migraines.)

The power to apply telekenetic forces to objects. The equal and opposite reaction is applied directly to your brain.

Someone's repsonsible for Voltar?

:-P I wish my margin doodles were that fun. Good expressions too.

The snake dragon thing got bored after clearing out its opponents in Dawn of Worlds and abandoned its creations?

I dunno. The alien snake-thing is creepy and probably had ulterior motives, but the foxes seem to have no reason to complain: They got hands, civilization, and the removal of a competing apex-predator species out of the deal.

Wish granted! You can now bend space and time to your will. But before you get to bending, you need to read up on general relativity so that you know how work your powers. :D

I wish I had more motivation.

Dragons have hordes right? It's a perfectly reasonable assumption: Disposable income ==> Opportunity for sales!   ];)

I finished your book "Thousand Tales: How We Won the Game". I loved the extremely detailed and interesting philosophy that you've put into the motivations of your characters, the development of your AIs, and the philosophy behind their goals.

Anyway, a wonderful book series. I love all the interesting philosophical details! Keep writing! I'll keep buying it.

I'm reading the first one in your series. Only 10% in, but liking it so far!

(edit) Your book is eating my weekend. I need to do work! :-P

Your AI seems to be a utilitarian, with a rather simple, if interesting objective function. That could lead strange places. (I'm at 26% of book 1). (Actually, now that I think about it, that objective function isn't all that simple.)

(edit^2) Holy crap! Weekend: gone. This is one of the better sci-fi books I've read all year though. (~56%)

Well - it seems Julian may have been driven to use the staff on his daughter for more understandable reasons than curiosity driven sociopathy. He's not quite the cartoon villian the reds must see him as. (Cartoon? check. Villian? check. but more complicated.  [:P )

We can rebuild her, we have the technology poorly understood ancient magic!

So Emmeline got dragoned, and we've seen a rat-dragon elsewhere. My wild guess is that the world has a contagious dragon-apocalypse building in the background. :-P

Don't mean to nitpick too much, as there may be a rank system that I am unfamiliar with. (One specific to semi-medieval anthropomorphic foxes,  [:P for example).

In the US navy, a Commander would be an O-5, and a Captain, an O-6. In the Marines, as in Army/AF, a Captain would be an O-3, then you would go Major, Lt Col, Col, various Generals.

Unless he's talking about a demotion?

(Crazy naval ranks anyway ...)
