Random Topics / Tallyn's Form Dice
« on: September 23, 2016, 10:04:45 PM »
So, I know you guys have been wondering why I roll dice, then become something random and probably not too well-thought-out. Or overdone by now. I'm actually rolling because I have a list of Tallyn's abilities in a .txt document so that I can keep things consistent. The number increases as Tallyn gains new forms, and as I remember old ones that I missed. For those wondering further, there are four different dice I use. There's a dY, which increases each time a form is acquired. I usually roll it as 1dY+4, because the text document starts this roll 4 lines in, and it just helps me find which line I'm on.
This, is my Species die. It also contains some hybrids, if any stand out.
The second is my Materials die, which is just a fancy way of saying: "Am I a toy? If so, what kind?"
The third determines whether I choose feral, anthro/Morph, 'taur, naga, or mercritter. I call it Leggedness for lack of a better term.
The fourth is just a d2, which I use to determine yes/no questions, one of which determines gender.

Species die:
1:   Umbragryfyn
2:   Digbat
3:   lynx
4:   Fennec fox
5:   peregrine falcon
6:   Vaporeon

10: Lopunny
11: Chocobo
12: Pony
13: snow leopard
14: skunk
15: raccoon
16: red panda
17: deer
18: kangaroo
19: sea otter
20: rabbit
21: beech marten
22: mongoose
23: pangolin
24: Eastern dragon
25: European dragon
26: GSA Defender-class Starfighter
27: Gründer Industries ADF-01 FALKEN advanced fighter
28: Flarebreon
29: Umbreon
30: Eevee
31: Braixen
32: Arcanine
33: Lycanroc
34: Husky
35: Behemoth
36: Faegon
37: Renamon

Material die:
1:   normal (organic)
2:   plush
3:   pooltoy
4:   poolplush
5:   balloonie
6:   costume

"Leggedness" die:
1:   anthro/Pokemorph
2:   feral/full Pokemon
3:   'taur
4:   naga
5:   mercritter

Gender die/decision die:
1:   Female (yes)
2:   Male     (no)

Inanimate object die:
1: die
2: swimsuit

I'm open for suggestions on forms, if you guys are willing.
I hope this clears things up for you guys. I'll be adding further forms to the dice, but they'll be listed below where "normal" is now. Maybe I'll rearrange it once I get my tails in gear.

Random Topics / Aether Lore
« on: May 05, 2012, 11:24:21 AM »
Within the Aether there are 12 observable elements of magic, with 3 categories based on similarities. There are the heat and cold set: Fire, water, ice, and lightning;
the earth and air set: Air, earth, mythos, and nature;
and the unnatural set: Light, mind, darkness, and mechanic.
Each of the elements has a special prefix associated with it:
For (fire)
Icil (ice)
Ruan (water)
Xyr (lightning)
Aer (wind)
Synt (earth)
Irr (mythos)
Sorl (nature)
Tark (light)
Merl (mind)
Tal (darkness)
Kanz (mechanic)
There are also seven categories in which people train in their element: spellcraft, shielding, armor smithing, swordsfurship, wards, and shapeshifting.
They have the suffixes:
yn (spell)
ys (shield)
ya (armor)
yz (sword)
yk (ward)
yx (shape)
There are 3 extra prefixes, and 2 extra suffixes, which also represent a certain aspect of Aetherian life:
Nynt (the Aether itself)
Neir (forbidden)
Torr (change)
yd (feather)
yg (paw)
These several prefixes and suffixes can be added directly together to achieve a genderless name, associated with special children who are born with increased abilities. Tallyn is one such cub, actually born with no gender but assuming a masculine shape and personality. Although he had been told that his name meant that he was hatched with dark plumage, it really means that he is most fluent with darkness magic, able to manipulate shadows to his will without even running low on mana. However, this has been locked away in his mind to prevent him from misusing this ability, as many of the genderless cubs have before him. Or so he thought...

Art Gallery / Tallyn's Drawings and stuff
« on: March 15, 2012, 08:21:20 AM »
Since it goes largely unnoticed on FA due to how low profile I am, I'm thinking of posting my art here so people can see. ^v~ Plus, I think it might help with a closed community so I can ask for pointers. I'll put what I draw in this thread.

Game Room / Tallyn's Pokemon Challenge
« on: January 13, 2012, 02:00:47 PM »
I've thought up a small challenge for Pokemon gamers out there. The rules are simple:
1. You may not evolve Pokemon.
2. EV Training is not allowed.
3. If a Pokemon faints, release it.
4. Catching an already-evolved Pokemon, such as a Butterfree (in the Bug-Catching Contest in Johto), is allowed, and the only way you are allowed to have an evolved Pokemon.
5. If it is required to trade for a Pokemon with an NPC, you are allowed to evolve only that Pokemon. This overrides rules 1 and 4 only for this situation.
6. Trading with other players is not allowed.
7. Training is unlimited, go wild.
8. EV-increasing items may not be used at all.
9. Items are limited to what the bag may hold.
10. Good luck, have fun, and try hard to complete this challenge.
11. In order to obtain Pokemon, one must only use Poke Balls, unless in the game's form of the Safari Zone.
12. Encounters MUST BE fought, unless the team is unable to fight back in some way. All trainers must be challenged, as well.
13. Hacking and cheating is only allowed to gather Everstones for your Pokemon.
14. For Johto-based games, players must defeat the Kanto gym leaders and Red.
-14.a. For Unova-based games, players must defeat Alder and Cynthia, and complete any post-game story.
-14.b. Pokemon Platinum and any remakes involving its story are recommended for Sinnoh games, due to the storyline involved.
I hope this challenge is fun, but also difficult. I will also be trying this challenge out to see if it is doable.

Game Room / Terrible Board Game Idea
« on: October 13, 2011, 06:30:22 PM »
David Wacker 9/22/11 Assignment 4: Challenge; Chapter 6, number 2
16/24 tiles
24 tokens
4 pawns
4 dice
There are four tiles set up at the start, each with the grid facing up, and placed adjacent to one another, and can be placed in any combination of ways as shown:

Before play begins, players take turns and place the tiles with the grid facing up, until there is a game board of at least a three by three square.

The players then each put their pawn on a tile, so that no two pawns occupy the same tile.
On a player’s turn he or she may place a token. The token placed must match the suit of his or her pawn, and may only be placed in a small square, and not along a line or on an intersection between tiles or lines.

After all tiles have been placed, players may move their pawns from one end of the grid to the other, but only along tokens. A player rolls a die, again corresponding with his or her suit, and moves as far as they have rolled. The players may only move to and from tokens corresponding to his or her suit. If the token is in a diagonal, or more than one space from the token the pawn is currently on, then the player must roll a two or more, based on how far the token is. The player to reach the end first is the winner.

Writer's Guild / Unnamed Mech Universe Prologue
« on: August 25, 2011, 05:47:20 AM »
To actually solidly mark this game down, I have decided to write down a prologue to the actual universe. I will be posting it on FurAffinity, and/or, with Virmir's permission, right here on the forums, as it is a piece involving what I would usually write out (which is usually dark). I would post this up in my journals, but nobody reads those unless I had a fatal medical condition, or a commission going.

Writer's Guild / Fuzzy Trade School
« on: June 12, 2011, 06:16:52 PM »
This forum thread is for a group short story started by Silber. After the first chapter is posted, everyone may enter their own chapters of the story, one at a time. These chapters are from the viewpoint of each Fuzzy's character. This story is PG, and based mostly on the antics that occur within the chat. Please do not force roles upon other players unless it is necessary.
All peaceful trades are allowed, including, but not limited to: engineering, game design, art, magic, and security. Ask Silber (usually Tallyn in-chat) what is allowed and what isn't.
P.S.: Please put down the names of those you intend your character to interact with, even if you need to out of context. Please use my post as an example.
P.S.S.: Please use Microsoft Word or an equivalent program to check grammar and spelling. I intend for this to be for the amusement of all.
