Yes, in most languages around the world, pineapples are called ananas, even though (for once) the English word kinda makes more sense. Also yes, in the few centuries after the Europeans discovered the Americas, they practically worshipped the pineapple, some wealthy businessmen would even pay millions just to have one displayed in their homes. Sorry I can't draw Spain flag well.
