In other words, "loot the dead of anything valuable, boys; I'll trade for what you actually need!"  Unless his business model is flexible enough to take I.O.U.'s - from possible criminals?  Though I suppose accepting a good geas spell might improve one's creditworthiness...

Must respectfully disagree.  Explosions are visually spectacular, concussive shockwaves impressive (but best observed from a safe distance)... but all that is needed for catastrophic destruction is a carelessly wielded, magically sharp blade, or a randomly deflected magical attack ... and GRAVITY!
