So a few of you guys may know this, but I've been working on a texture pack, and while I was working on one for myself, I thought it might be cool to make a texture pack for the whole community. If you know how/want to learn to change textures and skins in minecraft, I'd love the help.
If you don't, well, I could still use suggestions. It's a community pack after all, so I want to make something all of the minecrafters will be good with.

I have edited the gold block to be less horrifyingly hideous in two ways: a "realistic" looking (which is the bottom, it's full of specks) and the top/sides, which are no longer drastically divided. Tell me which you guys think is better.
glass is now completely transparent except for a border around the edge, and I made iron ore a very light silverish/grey color to look more like steel, and increased how much of it is seen on the rock to increase visibility. The mob spawner now looks like it's made of wood, and the effect makes it seem like a puzzle-box. Well, to me at least.
also: can you spot the secret change?
anything on the terrain file can be requested to be changed, so long as it's reasonable.

er, I should probably specify- that was my bad. I meant skins for animals/mobs in-game, and textures for the blocks and items and such.
Though I might see about doing skins afterwards?

that's something I can go for! I doubt i would have thought of that, too. [;) Shouldn't be too hard.

Can you turn skeletons into Britney Spears? They're both made entirely of bone, and neither has hair!

If the Creepers are gonna be Bob-Ombs, then Zombies need to be Goombas, Ghasts need to be Boos, and Spiders need to be Buzzy Beetles.

as a community-driven texture pack, I imagine this is going to get rather chaotic... For now, I'll save monsters to be done at a later date and do the textures for blocks at the moment.
Feel free to suggestion on whatever, just know it might not be done right away.

Hm... Maybe make gravel more gravelly?

current planned changes:
-make gold, iron, and diamond blocks less ugly. Requires feedback, take a look at the gold block in the image above and tell me what you think.
-more solid redstone
-gravelier gravel, if I can manage that.

generally, I'm pleased with everything except the gold block and the reeds. I'm not sure what to do with either, though. I'll need feedback on the block, and as for the reeds... Well I'll keep tinkering with it. The color doesn't look right to me.

Update for any interested.
Due to the low number of people who are helping with the texture pack, I'm going to assume the community isn't really interested in me making a texture pack for everyone. I'll stop updating this topic, then, unless there actually is some interest. For the time being, I'm not getting the feedback I need.
Arci and Geary, you guys looked to be interested and I'm sorry, you guys have been helpful so far, and I thank you for that.
