Right. This topic here is for those interested in minecraft, but do not have the full game. If this applies to you, leave your minecraft name below.

when you make an account, you have to give a name. This is what shows up when you're in the game world on multiplayer.

alright lads, here's the deal!
I want.. creations! Show them to me! But.. there are rules.
RULE ONE: These creations must be done before... Noon, Thursday, September Second, 2010. Turn them in beforehand.
Rule Two: No pre-existing creations. This is a test not just of creativity but speed and dedication as well.
Recommendation: Use creative mode. Survival is an option and could get you more points, but you'll likely be outdone anyway.

you wouldn't need the full version, creative mode is free. That's one of the entire points of the contest. One of the requirements is not owning the game, even.
And yeah Alias. no premade stuff or else you'd just win like that.

I still couldn't properly play, seeing as the bought creative mode allows you to disable gravity to build, whereas the free version does not.

Not true O.o you need to download world of minecraft to fly, it's a free third-party thing.

Haven't tried multiplayer yet. Can we all select what world we want and play together? Would be cool to collaborate building some giant castle or something while defending each other from zombie hordes. [;)

This contest is now open indefinitely. Go forth and make neat things! The prize was originaly going to be minecraft, the full paid version, but since some of you guys already have it I'll get you something else if you win.

Haha, Just for this weekend, Notch is letting people play for free! So theres a few people here who are checking it out at the moment.
I've been convinced and I'll be buying it when the server is back online!
