Title: Old Crimson Flag Comic attempts
Post by: Virmir on April 25, 2010, 03:20:14 PM
For your amusement (and potential ridicule), I present the very first incarnation of Crimson Flag from way back in 2006 (and loooong before I could draw). [;)

The story bares little to no resemblance to what you see today, and it takes place in a very different world.  Only got 11 pages in, though. Alas!

Also for your potential amusement is a little sort of interactive comic animation I made.

I like to think of this as CF, take 2.  With take 3 being the current comic.

I think I made this some time in 2007. By then I'd fleshed out the CF world a bit more. This is actually the Caerreyn (called Vander here) council chambers as is seen in the comic, and was going to play out similar to that scene. (With the dragon and all... had I gotten that far. [;))

MAJOR DIFFERENCES: Lucian actually has Edmund's role here, as a representative for the Auberwood, though he's still Julian's son (and rather wimpy looking at that). I didn't get that far, but Lucian was actually going to spill the beans on his father hiding mystical artifacts right then and there, rather than it happening some time before with Edmund in the comic.

And yes, just a few seconds long, then loops. Alas!

Haha.. Coolies! It looks awesome.. all the Multicoloured backgrounds and Glowy effects (heh looks like youve kept the same techniques since 2006) ]:)

Now, now, the backgrounds are much more refined nowadays...

But I have to say that way of drawing heads is quite funny. {;)

heh. I've got to say, those are probably the sharpest eyes I have ever seen. I can't even called them eyeballs, they're like... eye... shards. I don't even know!

still, cool to see how the Vir drawings used to look like!
