Once again dragons gonna come back without the use of a staff big and everything I may not know how but I have a hunch that it will.

Also a found out what the rock might be: it is most likely an extrusive igneous rocks known as rhyolite.

How much does Sierra need her staff? Does it give some boost or is it just a focus? Could she learn to work at the same level without it?
