I now have a working 24/7 (mostly...) modded Minecraft server. there's no whitelist so anyone who wants to join can do so immediately. all you have to do is set up the easy mod system, which i have included in a download along with easy to follow instructions. any issues you have with the mods or the server can be posted here, where i can fix them quickly

IMPORTANT NOTE:
as mods are added to the server i will update the dropbox download link with new files. If the server tells you it cannot connect you due to missing or old mods, come back here and download the file again, then follow the update procedures below:
to update: once you have downloaded CF Modpack.zip again, open it up and find the Modpack folder. the one that tells you to put it on your desktop. although you already have this folder on your desktop from the previous version, you are going to need to drag the new one to your desktop. once it is there, make sure you remember the name of your old step 3 folder (the one that was there before you started upgrading) and then delete it. rename the new step 3 folder to match the name of the old one. you have just updated, delete everything else from that download and it should work immediately upon opening minecraft. Warning: this will delete all of your saved worlds in the modpack. if you want to keep them, remove them from the saves folder before deleting!

Twilight Forest: adds a whole new dimension of fun
Rotten flesh to Leather: does exactly what it says on the tin
Ars Magica 2: be a wizard!
Backpack Mod: It's like a chest for your back!
The Big Trees mod: GIANT TREES!
Mutant Creatures: mutated boss-mobs
Thirst Mod: you get thirsty as well as hungry
Metallurgy: MOAR METALS
Better Storage: more chests with more space
Rpg Health System: get more health hearts by leveling up
Farlanders: enderman villagers that you can trade with
Better dungeons: adds massive underground dungeons full of enemies
Warrior Swords: super powerful swords
Dynamic Lights: holding a torch in your hand lights up the area around you (so do gold helmets)
Battle Towers: climb the tower, grab the loot, kill the boss, acquire diamonds
Chat bubbles: little text bubble above your head when you say things
Treecapitator: chopping the bottom of a tree with an axe breaks down the whole tree
Mocreatures: adds more animals to minecraft, both friendly and aggressive
Zan's Minimap: minimap on your HUD
Smart Moving: climb, crawl through one block gaps, and swim more realistically
P3Chan's Airships: airships... need i say more?
Buildcraft: builds and crafts
Dartcraft: Legend Of Zelda inspired items
Modular Powersuits: think ironman

Well I don't play much Minecraft anymore but in the event that I do play, add the Clay Soldiers mod!

I'm done with exams tomorrow. i'll probably try and drag some people away from Starbound for a few minutes and try and set up a big event Friday night.
