Okay, since Geary kindly pointed out that the table was on fire, I thought I remembered Lucian saying all the trees (and therefore wood) in the forest were warded against fire. After looking back at the page he said it (http://crimsonflagcomic.com/comic.php?comicID=104), I see that he also said "It'd take a fire elemental to make more than a dent."

So Pryo setting parts of the table on fire does make sense. Nice one, Vir. Clever. ];)

(And on a random note, that is also the first page we see Lucile. I like how this works out. ]:P)

MY guess is his life is flashing before his eyes, or that this flashback has some relevance as to why he doesn't die in the next few strips.
