Soo.... he wouldn't have noticed as quick his enemy was present if his daughter hadn't blown a hole in his wall...

Nah, too wide. Looks like a great place for a sliding door, leading out to a balcony. Evil overlords need balconies, from which to stare down at their minions smugly.

I sincerely hopes those guards incapacitate themselves, what with the silly dangerous and impractical weapons they got there

It's a cartoonish SATAM world.  Crazy impracticality only increases effectiveness =P
