I think that Roko is massively playing with fire here. What the hell motive does the Puppetmancer, or whatever is left of him, have to tell Roko the truth? That he's a kitsune? Yes, that worked so well with the last nogitsune that he ran into.
But by all means, keep right on poking that dragon!

No. It is because it is their OWN body they touch when they snuggle with each other.

I'm more concerned with the giant field of dead plants surrounding the puppetmancer. It's still there and active in some form or other, and if the forest critters can mistake Roko for one of his minions, then a small mana filled balloon wandering over to the mana eating tree will surely have no negative outcomes whatsoever
