Well, well, well, well, well.

Relshen's playing his own game of Song of Ice and Fire with the Dark Aves. That's why they were allowed to take whatever eggs they wanted.

Relshen was doing what Brand tried to do all along! No wonder they caught on so fast. Brand was horning in on his territory without knowing it! The village elder didn't call Relshen. The Dark Aves did after Brand stole their egg.

I guess Relshen really wasn't impressed with Prince Shock Jock when he blasted one of their more treasured assistants to ash as a warning. Now he's busy working on a palace coup. Not to mention the fact that the Dark Aves have been seen working with the Puppetmancer. Could be Relshen is working for an entirely different master than Vetra-jou.

And the plot thickens further, while our poor protagonists continue to do what they have from the beginning: Get caught in the middle. In this case, a war between the noble House of Quetz and a slave revolt. Or much worse: A direct war between the Puppetmancer and Vetra. That's the sort of battle that there IS no minimum safe distance from.

Ehh, to be honest i think your reading to much into this. As even Sadia knew their was something going on with the Dark Aves. What Deal they have with the quetz is still unknown. Or why are their even dark aves to begin with? Further more, if you look at their feet you see purple glowing stuff. In other words they have some kind of magic.

On the topic of the kingdom itself. Got to wonder something. What exactly is the kingdom to begin with? Think about it do the Quetz actual control any kind of land mass? Do they have any kind of territory? Further more they don't really seam to rule. Mainly just run around providing rain to people. Feels like their more of business then a kingdom.

That said, i will say this. For a small village they sure have a lot of Birds. Sadly none of them will even be useful. as i bet they are trying to swim out of this, Granted they might attract her...

Let's see - both Relshen's forces and the village birds all take off. The moment Relshen is alone, Dark Aves start appearing out of nowhere. And... there's nothing sus about that? If the Dark Aves and the Quetz are such buddies, why did Relshen wait to produce these two until he was alone?

Something is really, really rotten in the kingdom of the air.

To be fair, Everyone including the villagers know about the Dark Aves. So i don't know why they would be hiding it. Hell sadia knew about it. Thou the finer details of this arrangement, she is either unwilling to say or don't know. Hell maybe their hear to find out why one of their Flock hasn't returned. Granted if this is a rebellion of sorts. Why would they even care about the gang. As having them running around and keeping the court distracted is perfect for an uprising.

Regardless we will have to wait and see.

Yep, that's the million-dollar question. If the Dark Aves are known to the village and to the quetz, including Saida... why is Relshen hiding these two from everyone? Something really is rotten here, but then, that's been the pattern everywhere they go. Something is rotten with this whole world, and it all seems to stem from one source: The Puppetmancer. Whom the Dark Aves served at one point.

It will be interesting to see where this goes plot-wise. There are a whole lot of Chekov's Guns lying around and I am quite curious to see which gets fired first.

ehh i don't think the head honcho is hiding them. Their kinda standing out in the middle of an open field. Maybe is Relshen walked into a hut and they appeared. I would argue that you might have a point. but at this moment i think this entire thing was just virmir having a dramatic entrance. Rather then anything else going on. Thou the way they appeared could imply that Relshen is about to die.

Think about it, they appeared behind the bird by purple magic. They are covered in darkness. and one of them looks like they are about to attack. So you might think this is a meeting, when this could be an execution. Most likley for Roko actions, as roko tends to be the one who ruins everything.
