And to think, all Brand would have had to say was, "Lord Suzocon held us hostage. We had to do what he said on pain of death."

Might have even gotten a little sympathy from Taran-ouji, and it was the truth. Who said he had to know the "we" also included the real Saida?

Instead he... well, he was Brand. 🤣
