I'm guessing this is what happens when a kitsune kills the soul without also killing the body. I'm also guessing this solves the problem of the group having a soul with no body.

I keep having the suspicion that she is created life but lacking a soul could means shes limited on how long she can exist

My guess is that Suzocon found Roko's charred remains, rebuilt a body from them and added a (soulless) personality to animate it, perhaps not knowing (or caring) that she would need the ability to sleep to keep going very long.

There was the time in page 221 (https://rainburn.virmir.com/comic.php?page=221) Roko consumed the mana from living insects and that caused their bodies to wither and disintegrate. If Miyo was a normal fox and Suzocon extracted her soul, there must have been an additional step to keep her body functioning.
