This is the thread for the best 4 out of 7 match between Jonas and Kenku.
Game 1. Jonas(X) vs Kenku(O), board ceeeff.
Game 2. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board ceeeff.
Game 3. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board diagonals.
Game 4. Jonas(X) vs Kenku(O), board diagonals.
Game 5. Jonas(X) vs Kenku(O), board horizontals.
Game 6. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board horizontals.
Game 7. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board generated via random.org.
Remember that O is allowed to swap symbols with X as a first move (instead of placing a piece)!
-
Move 1
-
Hey Jonas, don't put X's over the shapes you place, cause that confused the heck out of me for a minute there.
Move 2
-
I have redone the image for you.
Jonas, your image editor should have a paint bucket-looking thing that fills entire areas of pixels (also known as flood fill). Try using that next time? ]:)
-
You've created a 2x2 area, Jonas. You cannot cover a 2x2 area with pieces. Try again.
-
Move 3
-
Move 4
-
Move 5! I think I made a really good one {:)
-
Move 6: Yea, ouch my move. We shall see what this does although.
-
7!
-
Move 8: Hopefully that will even the odds a little.
-
Move 9: No, it won't! {;)
-
10: Come now, this game is far from over.
-
Move 11: wheeee!
-
Alas, it seems this one did spiral out of control for me. Least I can make it close. GG
-
Move 13: I think you might be able to make 1 more move before we have to call/count it up.
-
I see yes. You win 13-10 I believe. Will start the new board a little later
-
Game 1. Jonas wins 13-10.
Game 2. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board ceeeff.
-
Here we gooo
-
Move 2
-
Move 3
-
Move 4
-
Move 5 :P
-
Move 6!
-
Move 7
-
Move 8. This is getting tricky!
-
Move 9: yes it is :)
-
Move 10: I'm inching ahead!
-
Move 11: Yea the T was a bad play by me. This should at least protect some pieces.
-
Move 12: I think we might have 1 or 2 moves left before game end.
-
Move 13: Well crap I can't anticipate worth anything it seems. GG.
-
Woo! Close one! =D
-
Game 1. Jonas wins 13-10.
Game 2. Jonas wins 12-11.
Game 3. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board diagonals.
Game 4. Jonas(X) vs Kenku(O), board diagonals.
Game 5. Jonas(X) vs Kenku(O), board horizontals.
Game 6. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board horizontals.
Game 7. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board generated via random.org.

So now to a board where switching can be important. So...I sat it in the middle of the board. Probably not the best move, but eh, figure I go as it lays
-
Move 2: I use the power of switching!
-
Move 3: Alright then if thats how you want to be, so be it.
-
Move 4
-
Move 5
-
Move 6: Sneaking in there!
-
Move 7: Have to say, this one doesn't lead to much interactivity
-
Move 8: Yea, I agree. This isn't a very interesting board.
-
Move 9: Well time to break up the monotony
-
Move 10: Nicely done.
-
Move 11: You let one go by you Jonas. You could have easily shut the door on me with only loosing 1 space.
-
Move 12: Noooot necessarily. The score is tied, and if I've done this right you shouldn't be able to get any more crosses {;)
-
Uhhh...Jonas...I just noticed. Weve been both cheating with the L shapes ^^;
-
Move 13: As for the move. There is on way, and with that, I believe I may have forced a tie at worst :P
-
Move 14: I win by a point =D
Also, we haven't been cheating. Flipping a block in addition to rotating isn't against the rules, just checked with Mathgrant.
-
Move 15: Wrong! 12-12 :P
Edit: and noted. DOH on my part as I had a better move had a flipped the S two turns ago, but anyway.
-
I count 17 O's with my pieces on them and 16 X's with your pieces on them. Why do you say 12-12?
-
I count 12 and 12. Shall we move on to the next game in the match, or shall we have countless recounts? ];)
-
Jonas its remaining spaces alive, not captured. Also, there is a move to go :P
-
Ah, I see. In that case the final move would make it 11-12, so your win, Kenku. Next game can start.
-
Ok. You have first move.
-
Game 1. Jonas wins 13-10.
Game 2. Jonas wins 12-11.
Game 3. Kenku wins 12-11.
Game 4. Jonas(X) vs Kenku(O), board diagonals.
Game 5. Jonas(X) vs Kenku(O), board horizontals.
Game 6. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board horizontals.
Game 7. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board generated via random.org.
(Incidentally, Jonas could have played an S as the final piece to avoid covering up his X's, yielding a tie score, which would make Jonas the winner by virtue of the last piece. An arbiter engaging in postmortem discussion. Who knew?)
-
Move 1
-
Just checking...being that your Xs to start Jonas areyou sure you want to start there?
-
Right >> my symbol is the one I'm supposed to protect... my bad.
Move 1: Corrected!
-
Move 2: I think im gonna take your actions...Switch :P
-
Move 3: It seems that with this board, there's no good opening move.
-
Actually looking, switching may have been a poor move by me, but anyway
-
Move 5: I have no plan!
-
Well with this game, its kinda hard to setup a plan until the very end. Much like EDH can be in Magic.
-
XD I forgot to upload
Move 6
-
Move 7: I am trying to act strategically!
-
Move 8: ok
-
Move 9
-
Move is illegal, Jonas. A 2x2 area was formed. Try again.
-
Move 9: Fox'd
-
Move 10: Grey Fox'd
-
Move 11: Red Fox'd! If I've done this right, I've just blocked off 6 while only costing myself 2!
-
Move 12: I still see a way to squeeze a piece in there, but well played. Going to also get interesting in a minute with piece numbers dwindiling.
-
Move 13: If you see a way to put a piece, then use it. I still can't see an opening in there. Also: Sacrificing one to save three ftw!
-
Move 14: Meh, Ill do it last...barring the shape is still then when last comes up. Anyway, let us remove this option :P
-
Move 15: No Comment.
-
Move 16: Looks like last move is actually to you, which I can point out if need be.
-
I was mistaken, I do not see a move.
-
Your game then. On to horizontals.
Move 1
-
Move 2: Tally Ho!
-
Move 3: En guarde!
-
Move 4: *Deflects Jonas's tail with his own*
-
Game 1. Jonas wins 13-10.
Game 2. Jonas wins 12-11.
Game 3. Kenku wins 12-11.
Game 4. Kenku wins 12-12.
Game 5. Jonas(X) vs Kenku(O), board horizontals.
Game 6. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board horizontals.
Game 7. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board generated via random.org.
Kenku, did you forget to attach an image? O can only swap symbols with X on his first move, if that's what you're attempting.
-
Fixed
-
Move 5: Going to cut you off. A small investment in my future.
-
Move 6: One move deserves the equal :P
-
Move 7: Nooot quite the equal. I set my red piece to make sure you couldn't respond with what I just did {:P
-
Move 8: I think you are a little mistaken, although no more Is will make this a tiny bit more interesting.
-
Move 9: Sacrifice 1, save 6
-
Move 10: A couple more than that btl. My stand is getting a little shakey on this round.
-
Move 11: Wheeee~
-
Move 12: Bugger. Think I loose by Tie Breaker. GG
-
Move 13: I win 14 - 12 :D
-
You mean 14-14 on last move, Anyway, will start new game in a sec.
-
Move 1:
-
Move 2: Probbaly shouldn't do this but it's sooo tempting!
-
Move 3: Yea, Im drawing a blank to the risk to that and just covering myself from being attacked up top in a way.
-
Move 4
-
Game 1. Jonas wins 13-10.
Game 2. Jonas wins 12-11.
Game 3. Kenku wins 12-11.
Game 4. Kenku wins 12-12.
Game 5. Jonas wins 14-14.
Game 6. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board horizontals.
Game 7. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board generated via random.org.
Perhaps I shouldn't commentate during the middle of the game, but you guys sure are covering up a lot of your own symbols.
-
Ah crap...I got my symbols mixed up...shall we restart Jonas?
-
No, let's just keep playing as is, but with us trading symbols so that you'll be O and I'll be X.
-
Alrighty. The board flips well in this case anyway
-
Move 5: Probably asking for it but Bwahaha!
-
Move 6:Right back at you, but with greater effectiveness!
-
Move 7: Not by all that much in my opinion. Anyway
-
Move 8
-
Move 9: Gonna go ahead and steal that last stick while I have the chance.
-
Move 10
-
Move 11: I do believe game 7 is going to happen [:P
-
Move 12: Possbly, but until then I'm going to do my best!
-
Move 13: I do believe you have last move...and if I counted right, game will end 12-9 in my favor.
-
Move 14: Yea.
-
Game 1. Jonas wins 13-10.
Game 2. Jonas wins 12-11.
Game 3. Kenku wins 12-11.
Game 4. Kenku wins 12-12.
Game 5. Jonas wins 14-14.
Game 6. Kenku wins 12-9.
Game 7. Kenku(X) vs Jonas(O), board generated via random.org.
Here's your extremely random board.
-
Move 1: Dunno what Im doing [;)
-
Move 2: Me either!
-
Move 3: Dooo ti Doo ti Doooooo
-
Move 4
-
Move 5
-
Move 6: Instead of the eraser, you can use the white paint bucket to remove the used pieces.
-
Move 7: I've actually been selecting and deleting, but this way works as well.
-
Move 8: Nooot sure that red was the wisest move for you to make.
-
Move 9: Perhaps not. Either way this should spice up the game a little.
-
Move 10
-
Move 11: Looks like this may go down to the wire.
-
Move 12: So it seems.
-
Move 13: Yea I think Ive lost this on tie breaker. One more move left I think. Good Match either way.
-
Move 14: If you pass then I win 10-9
-
Yea, I don't see a move. Good Match and Good Luck!
-
