Title: UNITY (a three-player board game invented in Spain)
Post by: mathgrant on August 12, 2012, 03:15:03 PM
The rules, complete with example images, can be seen here: CLICK (http://www.nestorgames.com/rulebooks/UNITY_EN.pdf).

In summary, your goal is to unite your pieces into a single group (including a "group" of one piece). Each turn, you may take one of three actions:
* Move a piece any number of spaces in any direction (you can move other other pieces of any color, but not over walls)
* Detonate a piece (a circle removes itself and all of its neighbors, and an asterisk removes itself and all pieces in any direction you choose; a wall blocks either kind of detonation)
* Add two walls anywhere to the board

The first player to have all of his pieces in a single group wins.

The colors will move in the following order: purple, orange, green. After three players have joined, I will randomly determine which of my opponents chooses a color first, and which one chooses a color second. Then we'll take turns doing stuff until the game is over. ]:)

I'll sign on as second player, though this looks like it could quickly get too complicated for a poor, simple otter.  |;)

I guess I'll go with purple.  It seems to have more options open to it.

You can't move a piece due south, Selden. You can move it in these six directions: east, west, northeast (well, approximately; it's actually 30 degrees from due north), northwest (approximately), southeast (approximately), and southwest (approximately).

I would prefer to fight Selden in a two-player match to determine who's the ultimate winner, but he seemed to express interest in resigning. I hope he can be persuaded to lose to me fair and square. . . :3

Okay, okay. I'll accept this win. :3 Thanks for playing, guys. If anybody at all wants to play a two-player game against me, I'll set up a new board, but for now, let's bask in this game's glorious being-over-ness.

I don't think I can win this one. So instead, I'll just resign right now, and add three random walls to the next game (as though I decided to stop playing seriously and just add random walls during my three turns).

We're playing with 28 walls now. Getting intense.

I'm going to pick orange. I think it's only fair that we alternate who gets to pick a color first. :P

Edit: if Spheniscine doesn't respond within 72 hours of the time this was initially posted, this becomes an open challenge to anybody!
