Random Topics / Casarok Tales/Campaigns
« on: December 14, 2020, 01:33:27 PM »
I’ve had some ideas for some scenarios that might be fun regarding Chase’s world, Casarok. I don’t know whether to turn these into stories that I can write or get together some folks for an RP scenario of some kind. I don’t know anything about D&D and the like though, so I don’t know how something like that would go. I’d like all your opinions on my thoughts regardless:

Scenario 1:
You wake up face buried in the snow to a strong blizzard, mountains one one side of you and a complete whiteout on the other side. Not only is the cold and snow unbearable, but you are at a loss for how you ended up here in the first place. A large, looking figure beckons you away from the mountains. There seems to be little choice but to move toward it. As you travel, however, the figure fades away. In its place is a silhouette of a polar skunk, who has come across you in this frozen tundra.

Welcome to the Snowscape, the northernmost continent of Casarok known for its denizens adapted to the perpetually cold climate. You have come across a small polar skunk village near your starting location. They have welcomed you as their guest, and it’s your job to adapt to their ways of life and help defend the village. Many other clans exist in the snowy landscape such as the hardy polar bear tribe, the silver-tongued arctic foxes, and the sneaky ermines. Apart from surviving daily life in the village and the external threats of the Snowscape, you will find out some of its closely guarded secrets and ultimately discover why you were brought here in the first place...

Scenario 2:
You stand upon a dune before Hieracine, the goddess of the desert. She seems infuriated by your presence for some reason. Unsure of your location or the deity that stands before you, you attempt to flee, plead, or fight back at her. Your efforts are futile before those of one of the gods of Casarok, however, and she summons a wave of sand to bury you within the dunes forever. You have to believe you are surely dead and fall unconscious to the depths of the desert.

Soon enough, a young fennec woman comes across your body half buried in the sand. She brings you to and escorts you to a small market town near an oasis. You find yourself in the Sandsprawl, a vast desert in southern Casarok. This is now your base of operations within the desert as you seek to rebuild your strength, discover your reason for being there, battle against the harsh elements of the sands, and finally bring yourself before the goddess Hieracine once more to exact your revenge. Perhaps she is your only means of returning home...

Let me know what you all think!  {:)

Random Topics / Chase's Triggers
« on: December 07, 2014, 08:02:30 PM »
I put this together really quick as a brief guide to Chase's automatically triggered transformations. Everything I've come up with up to this point regarding them is here.

All triggers are based on direct contact. Constant contact with a trigger will trap him in form. Otherwise, he can transform out of a triggered state at will but at the cost of a lot of mana. He tends not to cancel a trigger unless absolutely necessary. Triggers do stack now, and multiple triggers will trap him in form as well.

Plush - turn him into a 1' tall plush toy of his current form
Sunscreen - turns him into an island-shaped pooltoy based on his current form
Collar - turns him into a small feral version of his current form
Orange juice - turns him into a the taur version of his current form
Perfume - turns him into the female version of his current form
Lollipop - turns him into the baby version of his current form
Confetti - turns him into a pinata based on his current form
Gold dust - turns him into a gold statue or simply inanimates him if he is in an inanimate form (also traps him in form)

Certain combinations will yield different effects on him. For example, a collar/orange juice will turn him into a mountable feral and confetti/plush will make him into a costume.

Edit: Updated with his current trigger set and traits.

Random Topics / The World of Casarok

I have talked about this for quite a while, but I have done a rough draft of the fantasy world I have been working on. Very rough draft mind you. It's pretty much a compilation of all my ideas, all my stories, and everything pulled into one world with its own set of lore. It's hard to explain.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HUDPWFKu5d_1hOleRKCmol0KBnSXYaSn0le6iIsjuyE/edit?usp=sharing

I know some of you have seen it already, but I wanted to ask you all for some advice. What do you think? Do you think writing stories based on this world is something I should pursue? Maybe a game? Try my hand at a comic? Is it worth working on this over drawing? I just can't do both draw and write; it'll drive me crazy if I try. So I could really use some advice. {:(

Art Gallery / Chase's July Pairings
« on: June 23, 2014, 09:32:03 PM »
Hey, folks!

My birthday is coming up next month, and I'm going to be hitting a big milestone this time around. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. In any case, I'd like to do this thing again this year. I'm looking for people interested in getting pair commissions with me.

Note: If you're interested, please reply in this thread so I can keep track of who wants what. It's hard to keep everything straight if people whisper me in chat.

Rules are pretty much same as last year:

  • One per person. I wanna give everyone a chance.
  • I will pay for everything but the extra character cost on pair commissions.
  • If you can find an artist to do one of these for $20 or less, I'll pay for the whole thing. But you have to put in the work to find an artist, schedule the commission, etc.
  • I'm willing to work out trades for your part of the commission.
  • This isn't limited to my ideas only. If you can come up with something I REALLY like, then it falls under the above rules as well.

Here's my list of ideas. Hope you all like 'em!

  • Chase and a friend take a hike in the woods. They see something off the trail and decide to go investigate. Once they step off the path, however, they start turning into woodland critters. A sign off to the side says "Nature Preserve - Please stay on the trail!" (carrying this over from last year since no one took it)
  • Chase finds a box of magic markers that TF people by drawing directly on them. The markers cause them to have nice thick outlines and deep, vibrant colors. They are markers after all. (a spin on last year's magic drawing)
  • Chase and a friend get adventurous and go skydiving. However, when they pull the cords on their parachute packs, they turn into birds and have to fly back down to the ground instead.
  • Chase and a friend go to try some new Dragon’s Breath buffalo wings being advertised by a local restaurant. When they eat them, they literally start breathing fire while turning into dragons.
  • Someone gets sleepy and grabs a pillow and blanket to use Chase’s tail as a bed. Incidentally, his tail can be grown for this pic or he can be turned into an inflatable to make his tail an air mattress.
  • Chase and a friend get transported to a colorful new world and get to experience their own epic buddy platforming adventure. Possibility here of one or both characters being transformed, of course.
  • Chase throwing a Ha-dook-en at someone. This one is pretty simple. (Would like to get this one done in color.)
  • Ruby takes someone on an adventure with her, during which they find an ancient shrine to the goddess of beauty. Little do they know that it is cursed, however. Ruby's companion becomes TG'd (or TFTG'd) while the roo looks on at the change with an expression of confusion.
  • Malichi gets mad at someone for breaking into his lab and assimilates him/her into his legion of robotic lab workers.
  • Foxblade challenges someone to a duel. Epic swordfighting commences.

I have some other ideas, but I'm saving them for specific people. {;)

Sooo...anyone interested?

Art Gallery / Chase wants to do draw stuff
« on: March 17, 2014, 07:28:01 PM »
Hey all,

I want to keep practicing drawing, and since you all seem pretty cool I'd like to ask you for ideas. My aim here is to draw characters other than Chase so I can get practice drawing other characters, poses, etc. I want to do mostly pencil drawings here. It takes me too long to scan, ink, and color stuff on my computer with a mouse and stupid freeware program.

This is an example of my pencil sketch: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12817038/
Here is one colored: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12922849/

So please do me a favor and give me some ideas for drawings? Give me something with one of your character or feel free to throw in one of mine if you'd like (https://www.weasyl.com/characters/chasereynard). If you come up with something good involving Chase, I'd consider that too. If there's several ideas here, I'll pick the first one from the list or one at random or one I like or something.

Thanks, all.

Art Gallery / Joint Commissions
« on: February 09, 2014, 11:28:07 PM »
I'm creating this post here for anyone that wants to discuss joint commissions. I'm talking about a pair or small group people planning to put their characters together in a single commission. We probably want to keep the discussions limited here. Anything in depth like the look and content of the planned picture should be taken to PM, chat whispers, or other sources.

I, for one, am definitely interested in getting Chase or any of my other characters interacting with some of your characters. If you have a particular artist you like, I'm good with that. I generally go for TF art, something funny, or a combination of both. Here's my current list of characters: https://www.weasyl.com/characters/chasereynard

Edit: Because joint commission sounds better than co-op commission.
