Website and Technical Discussion / Line highlighter
« on: April 25, 2011, 05:27:35 PM »
In line with CF Laboratories Program of continual improvement, KAiDOS and The Fuzzy enrichment center is Proud to announce the introduction of a new feature: The

Line Highlighter

This new piece of code is Guaranteed to highlight (in a pretty gold colour) any names you have put into the /attention command, provided that your puny organic Brains have gotten around to putting something in it.

And if so whatever reason you wish to disable this, the scientists at the CF Laboratories have installed a nice checkbox in which you can click labeled "Highlight usernames on lines you are mentioned" in the chat settings sidebar.

KAiDOS does not recommend this action, unchecking the button will result in you not getting pie  and/or a toony fuzzy death.

Random Topics / What Chat Skin do you use?
« on: August 18, 2010, 04:58:14 PM »
Hehehe Just a random poll out of curiosity! ]:)

I personally use subblack 2, higher contrast and works well when my laptops screen is dimmed down.

Also don't forget the font colours are customized for maximum visibility in each skin! (Like yellow is actually orange in Subblack2)

Hiyas Fuzzies!

To aid in those who keep typoing peoples names (*Mews innocently ]:P*) we've implemented ANOTHER new feature!
Tab Autocomplete!

If you type in the first three letters of a persons current nickname in the text entry box and then press the tab key, it should now Automagically complete the name for you! Nifty!

Website and Technical Discussion / Name Ping!
« on: May 15, 2010, 10:03:19 AM »
Hiya Fuzzies

As I'm sure many of you noticed on the chat, we now have a new feature called Name Ping (the coder foxies said its usually called "nick-said" but the Kitty PR people said "no thats too boring...")

When somefuzz says your name on the chat, it should now Ping you with a new sound!.

Note the feature is Case insensitive and needs the Complete name as listed in the user list (our usual habit of using shortened nicks wont work).

Don't forget you can can click a Fuzzys name in the main message window for it to be automatically pasted into the input box! OR use the new Tab autocomplete!

« on: April 23, 2010, 03:34:02 PM »
Hiya Fuzzies! We have another feature on the chat! a Back button! ]:)

If you've ever lost a long /msg due to a typoed nick or had a random error pop up this feature was made just for you!

You should now see a button down the bottom left of the text input box with << Back written upon it. When you click upon itwill cycle through your the last 5 messages you've sent to the server.

Things to Note
  • This feature does not store messages between page reloads, or if you log out/in
  • Clicking << Back erases whatever is in the textbox and replaces it with the stored messages
  • Commands such as /who or /info are stored too!

Website and Technical Discussion / Forum Dice Roller!
« on: March 10, 2010, 12:03:00 AM »

Hey again Fuzzies!

We now have a Dice roller in the Random topics sub-forum for all your dice rolling needs! You can find it down the bottom in the Additional Options just below the text box!

You set the dice specifications just like the Chat dice roller with the format:
XdY+Z

You can also chain multiple dice together and the forum will automatically sum up all the rolled dice plus or minus the modifiers, add a description to each dice roll and also set the dice toll to private so that only you can see the result (which would be useful for the Dungeon masters!)

The dice are rolled after you post the entry and cannot be edited afterwards! ];)
Have fun!

Website and Technical Discussion / New Roleplay Room in Chat!
« on: February 22, 2010, 08:38:21 PM »
Hey Fuzzies, we're currently testing out a new thing on the chat; Seperate channels for the chatting and RP!

The Main room we all know and Love has been renamed  the Grand Hall, and will be used for the usual things we do here... Chatting about the comics, whatchas been up too all day and the usual Hugging/poking/and licking that goes on.

The Theatre (Role Play) channel is for exactly what it says on the tin!.. Roleplaying. If you have something especially Awesome and epic, to prevent the main chatroom from being clogged (and your RP from being interrupted) you can Move it from the Grand Hall to the theater!

How to change rooms
To change rooms all you have to do is go to the Channel drop down box under the Page title and select the channel you want to be in!

Things to keep in Mind
  • You can only be in one channel at a time.
  • Changing between channels makes the standard Virbot entry/exit sounds so that might get annoying if done repeatedly.
  • You can private message people in another room using the same commands as normal /msg USERNAME.
  • You can invite people to the channel you're in with the command /invite USERNAME.

Random Topics / Furries on the BBC
« on: November 16, 2009, 08:47:47 AM »
Hmm In keeping with the theme of posting furry media coverage here here's another article from the BBC:
They quote TaniDaReal (That famous Artist in the fandom) and Fred Pattern (who I believe contributes to the webzine Anthro).

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/8355287.stm

The article of course focused on the UK scene... but Brings up an interesting question: how come furrydom seems to most concentrated in the US?  or at least it appears that way on the Net.

Perhaps the EuroFurs and UKfurs are largely quiet... and furrydom in asian countries seem, to me somewhat under represented. (Perhaps its mainly a language thing, we only look at english based sites snd such?)

Oh back to the article
:
*facepaws at people plotting to kill their parents* the fact that they met on a furry website seems tangential to the case, but I guess it was an interesting angle to take ]:P

Edit: BTW the artwork used in the article is from this deviation: http://tanidareal.deviantart.com/art/Badge-Amarok-142732275
