Title: Fall of Darkness [RP]
Post by: Geary on September 22, 2009, 09:28:07 PM
Algula, a medieval world of heroism and villainy. It isn't like the old world you and I know, as there are no humans in this world. The people themselves have even began mastering the art of spellcraft. A world where war has seemed never-ending. The forces of evil have always been in balance with the forces of good, until they learned something. They learned of a way to harness the power of the gods. Evil quickly took over, and the people were forced into slavery and subjugation. Let me tell you the tale of how the tide was turned, and, through impossible odds, the forces of good defeated that of evil.

Rules
*This is a Semi-Literate RP. No One/Two-Liners and use proper spelling.
*Auto-hitting is fine, within reason. So long as it isn't to the point of god-modding, and you cannot describe the damage done to somebody else character.
*Nothing in the RP can go past PG, and this doesn't excuse cursing every other line.
*When you send in your profile, use the format given in the next post, and put in a Grey Fox icon to show that you read the rules.
*You may have more than one character, but please have some way of differentiating the two, such as giving them different font colors.
*If you're going away or otherwise cannot participate in the RP for a long period of time, please either make it so that you aren't holding up another character or have somebody you trust take over for you while you're gone.
*I reserve the right to add rules as I see fit, as do any Admins or Moderators.

Knight: Trained in medium/heavy combat with Axes, Javelins, and Mauls. Poor maintain their weapons and armor, and more often than not have Blacksmiths do it for them.

Long Bowman: Trained specifically for medium/long ranged combat with long bows. but carry around dagger with their off-hand. Can maintain normal weapons and armor.

Trapper: Trained to set up traps of any kind, lethal or non-lethal. Due to the weight of their supplies, they do not carry any weapons other than daggers. Not trained in maintaining weapons or armor.

Title: Q/A
Post by: Geary on September 23, 2009, 06:02:25 PM
Q/A

Q. What's an RP?
A. And RP is a game in which people 'roleplay', or act like something else. In this case, the roleplaying is done through text.

Q. Why is this set in medieval times? And why is there magic?
A. Because, when you combine those two things you get pure unsaturated awesome. Throw in talking animals and you got a deal.

Q. There aren't any birds! Why not!?
A. Because. Most birds are dumb and the others are used to hunt.

Q. Why are there only three or four of each species?
A. Because, I feel that covers the important animals. And no, alligators and crocodiles aren't important.

Q. You don't have the profession I want. Can I make one up?
A. No.

Q. Why?
A. Because, chances are if you don't find the class you want, you'll make something that either doesn't fit in or is overpowered. Most likely a combination of the two.

Q. Can I be the main villain?
A. What main villain?

Q. Do either side have a leader?
A. The forces of good lost theirs when evil took over, and now The Guild runs all anti-evil operations. The forces of evil have an anarchy.

Q. What's The Guild?
A. The Guild is a group of people who still believe that there is a chance to defeat evil. They were recently betrayed, and thus have low numbers. Hence why they're taking so many people in.

Q. Why aren't their humans?
A. ...Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh... Look! An obvious distraction! *Flees with Virmir's muffins*

Q. What is the 'dress code' for this world?
A. Glad you asked! Clothing in Algula is actually optional and is mostly worn in extreme weather, when the wearer wishes to be humble, or in combat. Typically, the inhabitants of Algula tend not to wear clothes when lounging or working, unless they need them for protection. Bags with over-the-shoulder slings are the most common method of transporting day-to-day goods. Additionally, all clothing is unisex, so as to appeal to a wider audience and minimize sexism.

Q. Are there gender roles in Algula?
A. To a degree. While there are a few anatomical differences between male and female, the mindsets in Algula have grown to a point where, mentally, everybody is very similar. This is a heavy cause for the low amount of sexism in Algula, where the only main difference is child birth. But they might be working on that.

Q. Do enchantments and hexes have side-effects? *New*
A. Enchantments, no. Hexes, on the other hand, tend to have weird side effects similar to that of taking a hallucinogenic drug in small doses. This is in benefit to to the caster, however, as the opponent getting high and attacking the air around them randomly tends to help the caster and his/her team.

Carries an ever-dull sword, but his bow is crisp and clean. Wears clothes, but is uncomfortable with how their colors clash against his white fur.
Bio: After a failed assassination attempt on his (evil) father, he left home to do some good in the outside world. Never uses his last name, just in case word gets around. Serves as a do-gooder or hunter to get by. Far-sighted, but present-thinking. Loves thinking, but hates logic. Always quick to notice things, but always slow to understand them. Lastly, he always sticks to his principles, if he could just remember what they are...

When in disguise, Goundo wears a brown robe designed specifically for Porcupines, allowing him to use his quills if the need arises. When in combat, he wears a loincloth, but prefers not to wear anything when lounging or meditation, usually coming up with inane reasons why.
Bio: As a spiritualist, he was raised in a tribe away from towns and cities. He had almost finished his intermediate training when the forces of evil took over, forcing the rest of his tribe to either death or slavery. Goundo was one of the few survivors of his tribe, and escaped to live in hiding among the corrupted lands he once called home. He recently joined The Guild, and has never stepped outside any of their bases unless he was moving to another base or was being sent out on missions.

No one knows what his real name is.

---

Username: D. Ein
Character Name: Chaba
Species: Wolf
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Alignment: Neutral?
Profession: Soldier
Appearance: A massive wolf, considered rather big even by his tribemates, where specimens two feet taller than the usual canine are commonplace. Like the rest of Mraah, his remote northern tribe, Chaba exemplifies primeval brutality: no armour save for burlap rugs sparsely decorated with skirmish trophies, and something that appeared to be the trunk of a small tree at one point for a weapon.
Bio: Chaba was considered a war hero by his tribe, where heroism is determined by few things other than size and might. However, even his colossal strength eventually gave way to the unparalleled ferocity of an alpha male Mastodon, the mammoth-like prey and eternal nemesis of the Mraah. Just as the enraged beast prepared to deal the finishing blow, the concealed nearby Mestasius intervened. Since that day, the two travel together in a symbiotic relationship.

When Kizmar wears clothes, they are usually of tan, green, or gray in color, and follow the main colors of the terrain around him.
Bio: A Guide by trade, Kizmar does what he can to earn a coin by helping different groups get where they need to go. Whats happens after that is up to them. For additional coin however, he has helped some parties through traps and caves, although he would rather not fight, as that's not what he is payed for...
----------

Evil

Username: D. Ein
Character Name: Mestasius
Species: Viper
Gender: Male
Age: 62
Alignment: Evil
Profession: Enchanter
Appearance: A perpetually tired and misleadingly harmless-looking serpent at first, Mestasius is an aged viper, with a characteristic brown body. His orange diamonds have, however, faded to a light brown shade due to his advanced years. These features allow him to conceal himself well in the rugs of his dim servant, Chaba.
Bio: At the dawn of a new existence enriched with the might of the gods themselves, not everyone magically-inclined rushed to lord their power over those less fortunate. The subterranean Kingdom of Setrusti, where even the lowly garden snake servants could teach the Surfacers a thing or two about plotting and scheming, devoted much time to honing and perfecting their abilities. As a Schismatic One, Mestasius left Setrusti when he felt that this skills have reached perfection.

---

Username: Kampkraft
Character Name: Maekrix Vivex
Species: Komodo Dragon
Gender: Male
Age: 143
Alignment: Evil
Profession: Enchanter
Appearance: Standing at 7"2, he can easily tower over most people. He has a set of dull red scales which protect him against most physical weapons. He is mainly a quadruped, the magical enchantments have long stripped him of his ability to stand on two legs. His two wings are batlike. The look in his eyes suggest of a character motivated by revenge, or had been touched by Tragedy's hand too many times.
Bio: A dragon, there are many beings that would certainly qualify as this mythological creature. Still the dragons of the Vaäsinger clan are not normal in any way. They are creatures bred for war. Their natural weapons, such as a breath of fire (rumors of various elemental breath weapons have been heard, such as acid, lightning, and ice. Still more esoteric versions exist.) and their armor piecing claws can destroy several opponents quickly. The scales that surround them often provides protection against mundane weapons, and can also ablate a certain type of spell somewhat good. What makes them most dangerous however, are the spellcasting abilities and the will to abuse it to the height of its potential.Tradition of which that had been passed down long ago by the Vaäsinger clan dictates that the child with the most talent in the arcane arts be selected to become this creature.

Maekrix Vivex was one of these children. In the city of Lavĕstôd (the descendants having converted from a wondering nomad group to land owners), it is ruled by a prestigious family composed of the former weapons of war. Born true (dragons were typically formed out of several years worth of modifications to the body, this is also unexpected; as to have two dragons in the same region is rare, even rarer for both of them to get together and mate), he was the youngest out of a clutch of 6 hatchlings. Although quite talented in the arcane arts and being intelligent, he  would however inherit nothing when his father (the mother having died 139 years ago) would inevitably died. No land, no wealth, not even a spellbook full of cantrips. With this in mind he sneaked out and into the other realms.

A male, adolescent hedgehog with tan fur strolled out of his room. He was a member of The Guild, a organization formed to liberate Algula from the forces of Evil. He made his way to the building's basement, where a large circular glyph marked the hedgehog's meditation spot. He reached to his back and pulled out six of the spines protruding from his back, then circled the glyph, placing them in designated spots around the glyph. Once he finished with that, he walked to the exact center and sat down facing the door. The glyph began glowing, and the spines channeled energy from the earth into it. In front of the hedgehog, a shape began to materialize.

((I'm not going to leave you hanging as long as I've left D.Ein hanging. ]:)))

Rixo entered the tavern of the reasonably populated town, but did not immediately sit down. First, he checked all of the characters in the room, twisting his ears right and left. He had an uncanny ability to listen out for evildoers, as long as they did not notice him first, which wasn't always easy considering he glowed like a lantern due to his bright fur. In the few seconds he did have, he detected a few minor mischievers, but no one who might make a hostile advance, so he decided to drop his guard. He seemed to tiptoe over to the bar, and sat down while placing both his bow and quiver underneath the high stool.

"Something to drink?" the bartender asked.

Rixo sneezed. "Something weak," he replied.

DJ strolled into Alvis'. The tavern seemed to be just as rowdy as he left it 6 hours ago. He scanned the insides of the place to see who was causing the most noise.

"It seems Rick is hassling someone for dept money again." DJ groaned. He walked over to the bar and took a sit on the high stool.

"Ah,Welcome back DJ." Alvis the owner and bartender of the tavern greeted. "Did you find any work yet?"

"No,I haven't." DJ Sighed   "Is there anyone here looking to hire me for anything?" DJ asked.

"Sadly no." Said Alvis.

DJ Sighed. "Its gonna be one of those days."

"Wanna drink?" The man asked.

"Sure, give me the usual."

To the back of the Bar sat a somewhat tall Cougar who was laughing with his friends. As they are slightly drunk and rowdy, Rixo probably hears him talking about the last adventure with a client, and how the poor mage was freaked out by the simpilist crack in the floor. Every so often he takes a drink out of his ale with a smile, and the continues his banter.

A battle-worn coyote sat next to Rixo. The missing chunk from his ear gave a hint towards his violent past, or present. He seemed far more comfortable in the high stool than the arctic fox. However, Rixo's constant glancing at his figure made him guess that the coyote's age could not be any more advanced than his.

They're getting younger and younger these days... he thought.

Still, Rixo needed information. He leaned over to the soldier, and managed an introduction in-between the coyote's drinks.

"You seem to be pretty knowledgeable; have you heard anything about a certain fellow named 'Rixo L.'?"

The porcupine soon finished his ritual, then speaking a word from a long dead language, the quills his had set up around the glyph shattered in a million pieces, and the porcupine stood up feeling revitalized. He made his way out of the basement and to the exit of the building, telling somebody that he was leaving before he did. Grabbing a cloak with the majority of the back missing, he made his way out of the building and towards the local bar, owned by somebody names Alvis. He hated bars and the scum who use them, but it was the only place he could get alcohol for his rituals while still staying under budget.

He walked up to the bartender with an emotionless look on his face. "One small barrel of ale, and please be quick about it."

DJ was asked by this stranger if he knew anything about a man by the name Rixo L. A name he wasn't familiar with.

"I never heard of anyone by that name." DJ said. "Is he someone you're looking for, or is he someone that you want dead, Because I so happen to be a mercenary for hire!" "I can do anything for you as long as I get a paid!"

The drinks that DJ and the potential customer had been finished and served to the two men. DJ took a chug of his drink and placed it back down.

"I'll tell you what, you give me 10 gold now and 10 gold after the job is done." DJ explained. "But if you want me to kill this guy, you have to throw in an extra 5 silver."

Rixo tried to hide a chuckle under his paw.

"Sorry, but that task has already been handled, as my name is Rixo L. I just wanted to know if my name had gotten around."

Rixo looked back over his shoulder. A porcupine far shorter than the usual crowd there took the seat next to him. The fox subtly scooted his chair closer towards DJ, hoping that neither character would notice.

"DJ, was it?" The coyote nodded.

"It seems that we share the same methods, if not the same goals. Well, do you happen to know of any tasks...less violent that need aid around here? I would rather avoid anything involving assassinating anyone, stealing, or hostage situations for the time being. As enthusiastic as a hunter I am, I also prefer not to..."

Rixo turned back to his drink. Watered down to perfection, at least it cooled his throat.

After a cough, "Nevermind, are you from around here?"

"I'm not from here, but I do live here in the tavern." "You see, this place is also an Inn but the inn part of it is upstairs." DJ explained. "I don't have a house so I just leech off of ol' Al here by paying him and his wife 5 silver every month."

The two's conversation continued for quite some time.

"I'm sorry to tell you that there isn't any small things to do here seeings how everyone comes to me for help, but even I haven't found any work for the past week."

"So, what brings you around these parts?"

"I just had a bad time of a job a few towns over."

Rixo coughed into his mug as he drank the last of it.

"Another," he said.

The porcupine sighed. 'It'll just be a minute' he said, 'I'll get ye yer ale' he said. Uncivilized little... he probably though I wanted it to drink all at once! If he doesn't come soon with that- Oh! He's back! The porcupine perked up as he saw the bartender coming with his barrel of ale. That should last him a month or two.

"'Ere's yer ale, but ye don't look like a drinker." He lift the keg onto the counter.

The porcupine placed the approximate value of the keg onto the counter. "Keep the change." The porcupine reached around the keg and pulled it down onto the floor, the proceeded to pick it back up and leave, as the bartender placed a white paw on the money left behind and smiled.

Maekrix walked in and immediately scanned the room for any possible threats. He ignored the stares he received. This far away from his desert homeland, he was bound to be a curious sight. Never less, today he is just stopping for the night. He walked to the bartender and asked for a room.

The porcupine finally reached The Guild's hideout. 'Finally' being relative, considering the hideout was directly adjacent to the bar. Regardless, the porcupine wasn't much in the 'strength' or 'size' department, so even that short distance with a keg would wear him out every trip. He began the several minute process of attempting to open a door with a large object in his paws, and managed to get the door open in a relatively short time. As he walked through the door, he remembered how few people there were in The Guild currently. He kicked the door shut and proceeded to the small kitchen they had set up, and as he set down the keg, he wondered if all this effort was really worth it.

Closing the door behind him, he found himself in a somewhat plain room. There was a bed and a table, and that is all it is to it. Scanning the room in a paranoid fashion, he than brought out a spellbook out of the pouch he had. Curious thing this bag is. It can hold many things inside it despite the fact that it should not hold anything in it! He let the spellbook float in the air before turning the pages.  For now it is somewhat empty. Reviewing what spells he had taken, he than put it back in the pouch. Locking it with a spell long enough to last the night, he went on to sleeping for the night.

Rixo finished his drink, and gave up on trying to cool his throat. He didn't want to get drunk, which could very well happen if he went on the whole night like that. DJ kept to himself, mostly, as nothing particularly of interest happened in this sleepy little town.

But once that dragon came in, Rixo got the shivers like no one's business. Whatever that means.

A character like that isn't normally found in a sleepy little town. Even when they DID come to a sleepy little town, they usually didn't pay attention to the other characters in the sleepy little town.

"Hey," he asked the bartender, "What room is he staying in?"

"Why do you want to know?"

"I think I just-" Rixo sneezed again, "-know him from somewhere."

Fourth door on the left, one flight up.

After paying the bartender justly for his drinks, and making sure to place the glass so the handle was facing towards the inside of the bar, Rixo grabbed his gear and made his way up the stairs. He looked back down to the main room once, then continued upwards.

Fourth door on the left was the same as the other ones, except it was easier to see because it was closer to the window, which the moon shined in through. After making sure no one was looking, he put his ear up to the door.

Half-sleeping, half paying attention, Maekrix mulled over his future. The northern climate here was colder, he would have to keep the spell that protected him from the extreme elements permanently. he than double checked his inventory in the bag. Speaking the complex enchantments in his native language, he browsed through the contents in his bag telepathically. A spellbook, the outdated map he still held, a quill used for writing, several bottles worth of ink, as well as several scrolls and potions. There is no employment opportunities in this small village though. Maybe one of the locals know where a town is located.

Rixo heard the foreigner speaking some strange dialect. From the tone of voice it sounded like a spell, but he couldn't tell what kind of a spell it was. He sniffed for fire while he listened, just to double check.

He kept his left ear up to the door.

The door very nearly flew off its hinges after three thunderous pounds. The bartender didn't quite reach the doorknob to let the impatient, if large, guest in. After one more such knock the door had, indeed, fulfilled its original intention of leaving the confines of the doorframe, and slammed into the bar at the back. The bartender's mind just barely decided between lamenting the ruined door and answering the barked "YOU!" from the door:

-"Yes, what is it, you bull-tempered brut-oooooooh damn..."

Right about there - just above the nose bridge - the bartender had a most annoying tick. Turning his head to face his guest at the speed that he happened to, he inadvertently liberated the annoying flesh bag from his muzzle against the point of a tree-sized warspear.

Its wielder could not even be seen entirely, for the now doorless doorframe could not accommodate his ungodly height.

-"MUTT! What city is this?!"

-"Kind sir, please be so v-very kind as to remove your r-r-rather sharp weapon from this h-humble working man's visage... This is just- just a tavern in our haml--"

-"ARE! YOU! REALLY! THIS! DAFT!?" the enormous wolf roared. "You have a big piece of metal pointed at your brain, and you even THINK not to ANSWER the question? How thick CAN your skull be? WAIT! Maybe I should just up and find out, eh?!"

As the warspear was drawn back and as the bartender's ears pressed in terror against his head and his life flashed before his eyes, the giant wolf unexpectedly lowered the weapon.

-"What was that, Staci? What? NO!" he roared (to no one in particular), stomping the ground in frustration. "I will call you Staci all I like! Your name is too long, anyway!"

Apparently calming down, the wolf bared his teeth and looked around the inn.

-"We are looking for... the Guild..."

Rixo's acute hearing didn't pick up anything from inside the room, but from what he just heard, the dragon spell-caster would probably be the least of his concerns right now.

Anyone with the gall to break down a door into a tavern weapon-drawn while referring to himself in a plural would obviously be a threat to all sorts of kindness and peace.

Rixo stepped away from the door. There wasn't too much chatter in the main room, as people questioned each other if anyone had any information on this whole "guild" thing, brought up by the wolf. There was still enough to make anyone who might step into the bar know that the wolf was not holding the bar hostage. At the top of the stairs, the little arctic fox drew his bow with an arrow.

Unfortunately, he couldn't quite see the massive figure from the top, so he stepped down, one wooden, creaky step at a time. At the middle-point of the stairwell, he had a clear shot at the eccentric wolf.

"Hey! You!" Rixo yelled, quieting down the peanut gallery as best he could, "Wh-" ACHOO!

Sure enough, the arrow sailed straight into the floorboard in front of the wolf, and let off a nice, meaty twang. The archer stood at the middle step awkwardly, waiting for the wolf to make the next move.

The porcupine heard the loud booming inside the adjacent bar. The wolf was either smart for guessing a building so close, or dumb for not knowing and randomly barging into a building. Either way, there was enough ruckus outside as to allow the porcupine into the alley behind the bar. Donning his ceremonial loincloth, the porcupine calmly made his way past the crowd and into the alley. Once out of sight, he began preforming a ritual, so that he would be able to channel spirits into areas he could not visibly see. Once he had finished that, he proceeded to begin channeling a restraining spirit. Though it would take a while and he would be completely vulnerable to anybody with a knack for magic, he assumed it would be the best course of action for a lumbering brute assaulting a bar with only a spear in hand.

Ignoring all that was deemed "annoying" to DJ. He simply took another drink from is drink.

"Looks like Mr.Rixo couldn't help but start something in my home." *Sigh* "I'm too depressed to fight right now.*

He turned around on the bar stool looking at the massive wolf. He then placed his hand lightly on the handle of his sword, waiting for what was going to happen.

Whatever glassware wasn't already decorating the floor as a finely divided sparkling dust quickly changed its mind and shattered appropriately at the wolf's thunderous laugh.

-"Nevermind that this TOOTHPICK couldn't kill an ALREADY DEAD MASTODON, you even manage to MISS with it! HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Blobs of drizzle splattered against the faces of the onlookers as the wolf cackled again. "Well, little foxie fox, I think you go sleep now... RWAAAAARGH!"

For the thirtieth time today, the bartender begged forgiveness from his deities for building a tavern with such a low ceiling. Apparently the wolf held little regard for the tavern, as he charged at the fox with his head dredging the roof all the way up to the outside.

Just prior to striking Rixo with the gleaming blade, however, the spearhead vanished. Normally, the bar that was in the way of the gargantuan weapon would be pierced right through. However, at this development, it was struck by the blunt end of a slightly polished tree trunk. Although the bar more or less vanished in a cloud of rubble at that point, the weapon never reached Rixo.

The look on the wolf's muzzle hinted that steam would erupt from his ears at any moment now.

-"STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!"

The porcupine was just finishing up the incantation for his spell when he heard the brute inside yell out of anger. He guessed that was his cue. He knelt down into the position of somebody whom would be praying to a deity and began repeating a phrase over and over again. "Kun Dal Raw... Kun Dal Raw... Kun Dal Raw..." he repeated, as ethereal chains began to rise around the wolf, slithering around his wrists and shins like snakes around a tree.

Kizmar did his best to avoid bits and pieces of the roof falling on him as the lumbering brute started tearing the poor place apart. As the Wolf finishes bashing on the poor building, Kizmar looks around and starts to help people out of the rubble.

Clearing the smoke that was blocking his vision, DJ sprinted at the wolf and tackled him to the ground.

"What the heck is your problem!?" DJ yelled.

Rixo was willing to take whatever luck he could get.

Apparently, the crazed wolf's weapon just vanished. The fox decided to accept this, and move towards the backup plan. He tightened his weapon

The wolf was distracted again, by someone named "Staci." Rixo tried to remember the name so he could thank his savior if he ever had the chance. With a sudden jolt, the fox leaped up the stairs and ran down the hallway. He passed along the door that had his attention earlier, and wondered if he should report the character to someone. However, he decided against it, as the town would be concerned enough stopped a hallucinating maniac from tearing down the whole village.

Rixo had his backup plan. He reached the window at the end of the hallway. He turned back to look and see if the wolf was following him when he jumped. Seeing as how he was safe, he dove, and prepared to roll when he hit the ground to prevent any major bone damage.

Unfortunately, someone was already waiting for him on the ground. As he rolled to the ground, his path went directly over a very distracted porcupine's tail.

It took him about three seconds to realize exactly how much pain he was receiving at the time.

The porcupine smirked as he finished the incantation and ethereal chains fully grasped the wolf's arms and legs. Luckily, somebody had taken advantage of the chains and knocked the wolf to the ground. Unluckily, he heard a crash above his head simultaneously. This... can't be good. With a thump, he felt somebody fall onto him and, more importantly, his quills. "Um... Sorry?"

Rixo shivered. It wasn't so much the pain. The arctic fox had endured much of that in his lifetime. It was more the fact that pointy objects were sticking out of his shoulder, and the more he moved the more they would dig into his skin. The blood spread to cover a good portion of his once white right shoulder.

He looked the porcupine in the eye. Now was not the time for leisurely introductions, "Well, these are YOURS!" Rixo yelled and pointed at the porcupine's nose with his good left hand, "Get them OFF me!"

Upon receiving the healthy dosage of translucent shackles binding him, the wolf had suddenly experienced a change of heart. Tugging at the spirit chains a few times with no success, he dropped down to his knees.

-"WAAAAAAAAAH!" The infantile wail would likely be strong enough to wake deaf corpses from the cemetery on the other side of the village. "Staci doesn't love Chaba anymore! Come back! I was only joking! I'll call you by your full name now if you come back!"

Then - barely loud enough to register as a whisper - a quiet, tired, but very menacing voice reached Goundo's ears.

-"A narrow Fellow in the Grass occasionally rides," the voice said. "You may have met Him - did you not - His notice sudden is?"

Slithering between the porcupine's spines to avoid creating any feeling, a brown viper emerged near Goundo's throat.

-"Age may have dulled my once vibrant colours, but my poison grows more potent every day," the serpent hissed. Then, with something of a flash, the spirit binds around the wolf materialized into heavy iron shackles. Excited by this development, Chaba ripped open the metal as if it were twine  string. Noting the porcupine's slight surprise, the snake continued. "Don't think I don't know your tricks, spiritualist. The source of the shackles may have been the spirit realm, but they still had to pass through the wooden floor. All it takes is a simple transmorphic spell, and the iron turns back to its original state. Now... you have a curious air about you. Might you know something of the Guild?"

The porcupine was about the try and detach the quills impaling the fox when he felt a slithering and a soft, sinister whisper. He listened closely as the snake told him about how he negated his spell. The porcupine made sure not to show any reaction to the question about The Guild. "I've heard rumor, bits and pieces like everybody else, though I don't think they have an outpost in this town. Quite frankly, I was just trying to keep the bar in business, cheap ale for rituals and such. By why would you care about The Guild so much as to go out of your way to find them? From what I've heard, they haven't done anything other than protect random things that need protecting."

Having done his best to help thoes that got caught in the roof collapse. Kizmar turns his attention twoards the cause of it. Following the path of destruction that the perpetraitor caused(and the loud screaming), Kizmar makes his way to the back ally and comes upon the incident. He stands back however, as experince tells him playing with magic would be hazourdous for his health.

Hearing the Snake's words and the porcipine's response, Kizmar attempts to interject to try to cool the situation. "Hey Snake, I know your buddy over there didn't help the situation, but if you keep threatening the guy like that, your probably not going to make it easy to get help from them."

"That they haven't," Mestacius agreed. "However, they also stunt the development of magic, wanting to outlaw certain branches. While this will allow them to protect these... random things... more effectively, it is a practice I and my kin highly disapprove of."

Twisting about the neck of the porcupine and slithering back on the floor to the nearby Chaba, Mestacius added to Kizmar:

"Watch your mouth, cougar. The only kind of help that the Guild may offer us is kindly leaping off the highest clifftop they can find."

With this, Mestacius vanished in the burlap sacks draped over Chaba. Visibly cheered up, the wolf pointed at the porcupine.

"Duur duur," he taunted, sticking out his tongue. "Silly porcupine, ha ha ha! Your booger chains won't hold Chaba back!"

Picking up his blunt-again weapon, he trudged outside, and shouted back in:

"Staci tells me to tell you not to stand in our way! For our louse is must!"

Scratching his head, the wolf corrected himself:

"Err... our cause is just! Oh, and also, Staci told me to help the innkeeper make this inn better."

Heaving the log off his shoulder, he swung it all the way behind himself, and smashed it into the inn's front log pillar. Lacking a support, the entire roof of the eating area collapsed to the side.

"Now he has to rebuild it from scratch! It'll be better when he's done! HAAAAAR har har har!"

Log thrown over his shoulder, Chaba began walking away from the ruins, into the forest where he came from.

The porcupine vibrated the quills on his back a few times to figure out which ones were impaling the fox and removed the manually. He shoved the fox off of his and recomposed himself. "Dammit, that was annoying. And now I can't get any ale..."

DJ at the moment is left awestruck on what has happened in the last 10 minutes.

Rixo shivered a bit. He had experienced loss of blood before, so this was no lone instance. But the events that had unfolded in all of ten minutes caused a rush of emotions almost equal to the rush that caused him to leave home.

"...thank you," he said to the porcupine, weakly.

But what about the wolf? And what about the Snake?

"...who were they? Did they know you? Did..." Rixo stopped, and turned around.

"I'm sorry," he licked the fur on his exposed shoulder once and said, "I have a few people to apologize to," then he began walking back towards the crumpled structure.

The porcupine walked away from Rixo, disregarding what he was saying. He was exhausted. The spell's interruption stole what energy he had left, leaving him with not even enough to make it back to the hideout. He began stumbling, and he barely made it five feet before collapsing and falling unconscious.

Kizmar saw the porcupine fall as the dust settled. Walking over he tried to tap him on the shoulder and asked if he was ok. Getting no response, he tried to turn him over as gently as he to check his pulse. Nothing that, he looks around for some help, and sees DJ. "Hey you! Stop standing around like a dummy and help me get this guy to the healers!"

"Sure"

DJ walks over to the unconscious porcupine and places him on his shoulders.

"Where to?"

"The healer, shes just up this way." Kizmar says as he and DJ walked with the Porcupine. A couple minutes later, they arrived in front of a large white building. Looking inside, one would notice a large amount of hustiling and bustiling going on, as people were coodinating the recovery process from the roof of the bar collapsing.

Kizmar simply sighs for a moment, and then helps the porcupine into the place to get checked on.

The overcast hung over the ruins as Rixo pulled a stool up to the bar, where the bartender stood in a mix of emotions between terror and bewilderment. Rixo looked at his eyes once, glanced back at the rubble, and then returned to his eyes.

"Sorry."

At that point, the bartender broke his steady gaze.

"What do you have to be sorry for? You look to be in enough of a mess yourself."

Rixo tried to hide his shoulder away from where he could see it.

"It was my fault, I shouldn't have aggravated him like that. Or at least I shouldn't have missed," Rixo coughed up a little bit of fluid from his lungs.

"How about you just help me clean up?"

That's probably what Rixo would have thought, too. The two of them began to check which chairs were still usable, and which tables were missing legs here are there.

"At least I'll be able to say this much: I'll have the only open-air bar for miles around!"

Rixo looked up at the sky, "Yes, you will." He tried to avoid looking at the bartender as he cleaned up.
