Hey, folks!
My birthday is coming up next month, and I'm going to be hitting a big milestone this time around. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. In any case, I'd like to do this thing again this year. I'm looking for people interested in getting pair commissions with me.
Note: If you're interested, please reply in this thread so I can keep track of who wants what. It's hard to keep everything straight if people whisper me in chat.
Rules are pretty much same as last year:
- One per person. I wanna give everyone a chance.
- I will pay for everything but the extra character cost on pair commissions.
- If you can find an artist to do one of these for $20 or less, I'll pay for the whole thing. But you have to put in the work to find an artist, schedule the commission, etc.
- I'm willing to work out trades for your part of the commission.
- This isn't limited to my ideas only. If you can come up with something I REALLY like, then it falls under the above rules as well.
Here's my list of ideas. Hope you all like 'em!
- Chase and a friend take a hike in the woods. They see something off the trail and decide to go investigate. Once they step off the path, however, they start turning into woodland critters. A sign off to the side says "Nature Preserve - Please stay on the trail!" (carrying this over from last year since no one took it)
- Chase finds a box of magic markers that TF people by drawing directly on them. The markers cause them to have nice thick outlines and deep, vibrant colors. They are markers after all. (a spin on last year's magic drawing)
- Chase and a friend get adventurous and go skydiving. However, when they pull the cords on their parachute packs, they turn into birds and have to fly back down to the ground instead.
- Chase and a friend go to try some new Dragon’s Breath buffalo wings being advertised by a local restaurant. When they eat them, they literally start breathing fire while turning into dragons.
- Someone gets sleepy and grabs a pillow and blanket to use Chase’s tail as a bed. Incidentally, his tail can be grown for this pic or he can be turned into an inflatable to make his tail an air mattress.
- Chase and a friend get transported to a colorful new world and get to experience their own epic buddy platforming adventure. Possibility here of one or both characters being transformed, of course.
- Chase throwing a Ha-dook-en at someone. This one is pretty simple. (Would like to get this one done in color.)
- Ruby takes someone on an adventure with her, during which they find an ancient shrine to the goddess of beauty. Little do they know that it is cursed, however. Ruby's companion becomes TG'd (or TFTG'd) while the roo looks on at the change with an expression of confusion.
- Malichi gets mad at someone for breaking into his lab and assimilates him/her into his legion of robotic lab workers.
- Foxblade challenges someone to a duel. Epic swordfighting commences.
I have some other ideas, but I'm saving them for specific people. {;)

As noted, I would be fine with being the backup choice for the Fox color swap. Yea, it's another grey fox cash, but I am much more vibrant than vir :P

I'd just like to suggest that Caleb be the one to draw the pinata picture. He's already proven that he's good at those!

Considering my own birthday was only last week and I barely got anything except some money from a grandparent I think I'd enjoy attempting to do a picture for you with my own hands. I actually think the "magic" marker idea would work pretty well with my one and only character since he'd naturally want to play due to his mischievous personality. Anyway just look over the art that's in my Deviant account and then let me know if you come up with any suggestion for what I should draw for you that's within my skill range, well that is if you want to.

I'd like to look into doing these starting today. So far I've got interest from Kenku, Plazma, and Fear.
I am definitely open to ideas anyone else has if they don't like any of the ones I have listed. Let's do this thing! {:)

Well I believe I would fall under the category of not having the means to pay my portion so if you can't haggle the price down enough I'd be fine with just having the opportunity to personally draw my own version of the color swap. I could use the practice anyway so draw a couple of anthro characters along with a new species should do my work some good.

My preference would be to draw each others' characters in magic marker style on this one as opposed to paying for someone to commission it.

It would be an honor but it seems my scanner doesn't really like bright colors, I swear the colors in your gift were a near perfect match in the paper version but when I scanned it to my computer the colors were darkened.

I know, I just want to let you know. Also there is a small chance that since it's supposed to be our characters changing each other through drawings that it might look little strange beyond just the thick lines. I'm going to have to put myself in the mind set of a mischievous cub after all.

Everyone else interested: I haven't heard any preferences for artists yet. My suggestions are Kitsunefan, Keetah, and Tomek. Betsy would be good for a one or two character pic during her sketch streams. I'd also really like to get one from Virmir once he's feeling better and taking commissions again. I'd love for one of the regulars to do one too if they're up for it (Caleb, Donnie, Trubbol?) If any of these are good or you know anyone else you want to involve in this, let me know!

Heh. Yeah. Sorry I haven't been commenting on this one. I've been thinking on how would my characters would do for your ideas.
Really, the only ideas I can think of that are good for my characters as well are the battle idea and you transforming my character. The rest just doesn't appeal to me. ^.|.^;;
Well, except the merging idea, but my characters are either foxes/kitsune, canines (well, except for Ash when in drackal form), or a female. Unless you wanted to be TG and silvery. XD
What do you think?

This isn't really my thing but I did have an idea for the merging.
Two bubbles collide, you get one giant bubble (or two bubbles stuck together, but we're ignoring that possibility). So just have someone turn yourself and one other into a bubble and have them collide. Where you go from there if anywhere else at all no clue.

Well, if me and virmir join you for the mythical hotsprings one I think kitsunekit could be a good choice or even Virmir himself....which may be cheating a bit on Virmir's end. Gotta remind me who Keetah is and Tomek could be a good choice too.

Well I could start my part today since the image has already started to come together in my head. I don't know how the two pieces will look side by side since I mostly use colored pencils and from what I've seen you use the digital method.

I can sketch out a framework before you begin. I can also do colored pencil for this. Then I can take a scan of your part and a scan of my part and piece them together. Should be no problem at all.

Oh it's fine by me. The only thing I might be picky about is that he must retain the scar on his left eye and the small notches on his ears, also the symbol of his hip is also on the back of his jacket just like it was on the back of Riku's attire in Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. In other words Fear is a Dreameater if you didn't know what the symbol meant.

No problem. Thanks for letting me know before I started. Also, looking at your picture, I need to take this in a different direction than the way I originally thought of this concept. No big deal though. Just another take on the concept, and I have a feeling I'm going to be doing more of these in the future.
Vir and Mehl, I need your info, poses, etc for this pic. Sounds like we decided on Keetah, correct?
Nik and Dmitriy, I guess we need to pick an artist. (Anyone else interested in being a pinata or taking a swing at Nik or I?)

Yeah, I'm fine with Tomek as long as he can draw from a textual description as opposed to a ref. I've never gotten something before and I am not a good artist, so I have no ref. Don't worry, my fursona's not terribly complicated mainly for this reason.

Well, looking at Virmir's last post about his current physical state it looks like he won't be replying for a while but I'll send you a PM. Not sure if Virmir is gonna join us for a 3 person pic or not or if he's wanting a different artist so for now I'll just give you my info and once Virmir can type again we'll see what happens.

Since this is transformation via water, would more of a sea dragon be okay? If this clashes with your theme of fire breathing dragons, no worries - can go with something more traditional.
I was thinking of something along the lines of the following.

Long sinuous finned tail, scales creeping up abdomen and chest, legs disappearing into fins, maybe upper body mostly fox with one arm normal and one starting to turn into a fin. Fin growing on the head for good measure. Gaining mass overall but cape not destroyed yet!
This would be cool as an underwater transformation, but I can also see him having escaped the spring and desperately trying to crawl away as the changes overtake him. In fact the latter would be more amusing depending on the scene you had in mind, he he he
