And suddenly a cliff. I wonder how this thing formed in the middle of a forest...

A really, really big-ass sinkhole was made while none of us were looking.

At least in the woodlands up here where I live, cliffs like that are common in the forest.  They were carved out in massive swaths by glacial movements ages ago, and the forest has had plenty of time to spread up around it.

Well, we don't really have any other evidence that this area was his by glaciers. And in the backround there in the middle, I see flat land, the some hills, then mountains. Doesn't quite remind me of a place marred by glaciers long ago.

Wooded flatlands, hills, and mountains...that's basically where I live. :P

Besides, if I didn't know that's where they came from, there's not really any evidence that glaciers were here, either.

I am in Colorado, so pine trees, rocks, more pine trees, and a big mountain range in the middle. Cliff-y forests everywhere
