Title: Magic Duels
Post by: Kasimir on October 07, 2011, 06:33:42 AM
Copypasta'd from my dA Journal (http://furry-placido.deviantart.com/journal/44805434/)....

Okay, so now. I most likely dropped my "Furry Trade School" entry; at least for now. Instead, I'm revisiting my childhood ideas of toony, sci-fi, fantasy & adventure stuff. That, and I'm throwing in YGO & MTG (mostly YGO,) in the sense that I'm structuring the story around a game.

Magic Duels are fought with real mythical creatures and magic spells, not paper cards and holograms. Of course, to minimise the damage, suppression field emitters are placed all around the city. Contenders start with 20 LP, and damage is calcuated based on the severity of each attack.

And as always, I'll use my characters.... No, not Pocky, Nugget, & Baxter. Im'ma give them a break. This time, it's starring Parrow, Louise, Jasper, and some old past characters that none of you know of. Vash, Dex, Cassie, Napalm, Techno, and Lefty & Righty. Also, new villains.... Johan [link] (http://fav.me/d3nr4x5), Mr. Neilstein and his magic rock, and a group that calls themselves The Rings of Saturn....

More info to come!

...And of course, I'd like some feedback - Other than remarks such as, "Oh, what a stupid idea; no one likes furries playing Yugioh," or anything. If you hafta go and tell me how much the idea sucks, please justify it with a few more sentences. If I hafta have my recent good mood streak shattered, I'd rather it be by someone's well-thought-out response, than by a lame one-liner. Of course, I'd rather keep it up than have it shattered to begin with tho', obvz.

Sounds interesting, but keep in mind that stories based around a make-believe (i.e- one without an RL parallel) game are tricky to get the audience to invest in. The rules need to be pretty clear and easy to follow or else it'll be hard to understand what's going on.
